Our place is the best place to get away from the noise. No fireworks here from us or the neighbors.

We awoke this morning to find our little jewel of a location totally absent of bird song and sunlight. The sky is a sickly orange yellow and so thick you can't see our favorite mountain. Mount Arrowsmith is about 8 miles from us and totally invisible in the smoke. If the opening strains of Dante's Inferno were to play out I don't think anyone in the area would be surprised. We are surrounded by forest fires and it is so eerie not being able to see the grand vistas that surround us. The real Irony of the situation is that the two huge forest fire fighting water bombers have been decommissioned and cannot join in the fight. Gracie is all packed and provisioned and prepared for a quick exit if we get the word to flee.

Good morning mutants near and far. It's cool and breezy this morning at the MMDC Resort. Have yet to see the lady of the house. Mr Malone was the last one to bed and the first one up. He's already having a cigar and making plans for the day. I can't keep up!

I will attempt to get pictures that don't look like I have been playing with Sepia toning in Picasa.

Not to worry about us just yet as the fires are all several miles from us and two of them are on the other side of the mountain range. The good news is we have been having a beautiful summer but the bad news is we have been having a beautiful summer. It hasn't rained here since early April and everything is tinder dry.

The rally bad news is the place we made reservations at for next week is also surrounded by forest fires and we may be not able to go there either.

We need an RVM Rain Dance, me thinks. Sheesh!
Found this on Google Earth, current fires in BC.

Thanks Dave. The three on the center of the island are the ones surrounding us at the moment.

Dwayne, I share your misery!

Although not as severe, I'm getting tired of things not working, fixing things and wonder when the enjoying starts.

First trip out this year and one of my basement compartment door latches fails while closed. It's a bus style door with 4 latches. Not sure how I'm going to break in.

I still have to fix the Aqua Hot endless hot water the isn't "endless"

Leveling system didn't work again after replacing one of the jacks and now have to look into that before holidays! That should be good for a $2000 bill at least!

That Mr. Malone, even after all that heavy partying over the years taking its toll on his health, he's still able to out-do everyone!
