Sea foam works great. But if it's not going by Bryce I'll fix it.

I've driven the Going To The Sun road a few times. What an amazing engineering feat when you think it was built by the Corps of Engineers in the 1940's.

Maybe we'll bring supplies to have a couple things for you to do while there...but the gennie is all we have to cool us while we travel at this point since the cab air doesn't work. It was looked at by a shop and they wanted a lot for that... not worth it if we can run the gennie, house air, and a fan when we drive in the hot....we are mutants ya know, lol!

Steve did you get to drive across? Due to fires it was closed down two years ago when we were there. If you look closely at my avatar you can see the bridge in the distance! We did float the river below! The Arkansas River !

We didn't drive across. There were people everywhere. Saw a few cars on it. So it looks like you can. Didn't ask. It's really hard to get a picture that does it justice. I have a couple on my camera of folks on the zip line crossing it but couldn't capture the vastness below them. I could not do that!

Salida was packed like sardines today. Beer was the reason...
"Imbibe with more than 200 different beers from 74 Colorado brewers*during the COLORADO BREWERS RENDEZVOUS*on Saturday, July 11, 2015, in Riverside Park. Food and*live music add to*this great party hosted by the Salida Chamber and the Colorado Brewers Guild. For online tickets, visit*SalidaChamber.org"
Of course the drive back would have been a little tough - so no brew for me. :-(
The town is typical cool Colorado arts and such. We have it on the return list. And of course much more of 50 toward Gunnison.
I don't think I mentioned this - but yesterday we were suppose to join Jim and Ginny in Gunnison but my trip to the doctor kept us here. Had to be sure my head didn't fall off after the close shave.
So we will now motor to Abq beginning Tuesday and then on to Vegas. Then the Big Bryce Fall Into Summer GC...

We were there years ago. With 4 grade school boys in tow... one whom was a nightmare at such places... I couldn't bear to walk on it and risk son 2 doing something impulsive and deadly... so I made hubby drive us across it instead. Happy to say son 2 would now not be a problem crossing it on foot and I wouldn't feel the need to run interference between him and the edge hanging onto his shirt for dear life...by the time we were there, he had almost flipped over a glass rail wall on a second story of a mall, so I was quite paranoid about him and heights. Iffin ya need more nightmare stories, the curiosity at Bryce campfires will come soon. I'm sure many parents have similar stories of their genius kids who thought of great ideas and hadn't the common sense to think those ideas fully through.
