I'm pretty sure Ed and Jackie are in at #8.

So what say Deb.. will you be hunting cashes 8/21 pm at Ebenezers or out in the canyon?

Herb - Possum - as soon as you've firmed up the calendar - let me know if you will be wined and dined Western Style at Ebenezers.

Wow... it's almost here!
Hey Steve,

Is there a schedule of events or meal sign-up yet? Are you ready to reactivate the GC planning email list?

Advice for all of you headed to Bryce -- there is one sorta grocery store in town with limited selection and very high prices. The closest real grocery store is about 30 miles away. I always stock-up in a big town on the way.

There is a gas station/auto repair across the road from Ruby's hotel. The gas prices were close to the surrounding towns. The nearest Walmart is a really LONG drive.

I've been keeping up with the reading each day. Just haven't commented much. We went out huckleberry picking yesterday and came back with about 7 cups before the skies opened up and dumped rain on us.

Count us in for Ebenezers on 8/21. I was waiting to hear on the other email before letting you know that we'd go but never heard any other comments so didn't know others were letting you know. What are the plans for the rest of the time? Is there a somewhat schedule of activities - what days are going to be exploring with jeeps or is this going to be a "what do we feel like today" get together? This will be our first time and not sure what to expect and what to plan for food yet. Do you do lot of potluck type meals or individual?

I will come with some info on geocaching and samples of caches if anyone wants a quick lesson. If not, that's fine too. We will be doing a little geocaching while there. The ones in the park itself, are virtual type geocaches. There is no container to find, just questions to answer at the cache coordinates.

I've spoken with Dave - Jeff - Tim - Marty - MMDC and exchanged info with others in text etc. We're all pretty much in agreement that the group is small and planning should be at a minimum.

Most of us carry enough food and snacks to go around and can fit into a Curiosity Pot Luck. So I'm not really concerned about a schedule or using the email list or the website.

We don't have a room or pavilion so we will have to see what our site arrangement will permit / accommodate.

There are some limitations upon us in that Bob flies weather (wind) permitting. Jeepers jeep - weather permitting to some extent.

So currently we have
1. Ebenezers Friday night 8/21

2. The Great Mutant Smoke Out - I will smoke something... maybe pork butts... or try something new. Perhaps Sat 8/22. This is the night we'd need sides and other items for the Feast of the Mutants.

3. Mutants Benedict and Bloody Mary's - probably Sunday the 8/23.

4. And 1 pot luck - we can play by ear. Once a grill or two materialize - we can cook up various forms of burgers, Hays sausages, etc.

5. We need a day of picnic baskets for our visit to the park.

Colleen and Annie and I are discussing either a plane or helicopter tour... and I'm sure others have ideas.

Once we gather the curiosity will happen!

Annie and I have more plates, red solo cups, plastic ware and napkins than you can shake a rattler encrusted walking stick at. Nobody needs to worry about that! It's more than covered.

I am also thinking of doing corned beef and cabbage again - only this time I will do 2. The one just didn't go far enough.

Let's just stay loose and let this one happen. We won't open the kimono till Marty and Bob arrive on or about the 19th.

As for a drive to town - wherever that is - I don't think any amount of planning can stop that from happening. Someone will need to go for something eventually. We will improvise and get er done.

I also think Tom has some beans or chili or something in minds to put in those dutch ovens to use. Yum.

Can't wait to see everybody!

One other thing on Bryce. I won't be making gallons of Hurricanes as the group is small - and that was usually on Paul Byrd Band night. U fortunately I can't get them up there - so our entertainment night will be at Ebenezers. So everyone needs to bring their own adult beverages to functions. I don't think that will be a problem lol. We mutants can set up a bar just about anywhere.

If I were to position myself to hang ten there would be a beached whale alert, so no pictures.

To the powers that be: our intended slot at Ruby's Inn is 106, and we are scheduled to check in 8-15, check out 8-22. Can Mr. Malone come to Ebenezer's?

On your way to Bryce while going through Colorado pickup some smoke out greenery. If we manage to be there just inform me what night the great smoke out is and I'll head off somewhere else. Highly allergic to that stuff so I do remember the 60s.

Bunch of our Toy run group will be there, watch for the Port Alberni Toy Run TShirts they will be wearing. Features a Mars Water Bomber dropping toys on a couple of little bears.

With proper photo ID I don't think there would be a problem.
