Sadly, Sena and I won't be able to join the wild and crazy fun at Bryce Canyon. It's just too hot in most of the country for us to leave Seattle this early. We have only used the A/C for 8 hours total this summer and this is free FHU parking with lots of perks compliments of my DD and SIL. Anyone headed this way give us a shout if ya wanna mini-C.

Also, if you are headed north from Bryce and enjoy historical sites check out Cove Fort It's only 2 miles east of I-15 about 95 miles from Bryce. Sena and I really enjoyed the guided tour thru the fully restored fort. It tells important stories of our country's westward expansion.

R U an RV Mutant too?

The Boot Hill Museum, Dodge City KS, recreated on the original ground, complete with Boot Hill and the Longbranch Saloon (yes, it was real).
And a shot of Mister Malone's great grandfather.

R U an RV Mutant too?

The Bell Inn at Lacock is managed by our friends' younger son and his wife, who live upstairs. Such a terrible commute! One of their regulars bears out my observations about dogs in pubs:

Wise words, Barb. Pets and children both benefit from those situations if handled correctly.

More of the pub:

Attachment 102669

We hadn't realized it, but this pub is outside the village, so no walkabouts for pics, and we stayed until after close. We talked all through a light supper, a cheese board and glass of port, and finally a coffee. It was delightful to see the boys all grown up (32 and 29) and being responsible adults, and fun to visit with the whole family. Did I mention we met as next door neighbors when their sons were in single digit ages? June and I joined the same clog Morris side, learning together. She still dances.

Gone midnight here, so I'll be off to snooze. Rain tomorrow and a lie-in. Don't know if I can promise any sightseeing in the rain, but you never know.

Cheers!

Sorry - I know you will be missed !!!

We cant make plans yet till we see how Anns new heart medicine will help her problems. She got new RX Fri, and this weekend has not felt well & VERY Tired...

So, Bryce & Seattle may be out for us as well...

Hopefully, when you head South for the winter, we can mini-C then...

In the meantime, please enjoy Seattle enough for both of us...

Sitting at KOA in Goodland, KS. Last night in Higginsville, MO Tomorrow night it's Golden, CO at Dakota Ridge Resort for 3 nights. Thursday night in Grand Junction, CO and Friday gets us to Bryce Canyon, UT in early or mid afternoon.

I know Steve. You consider a slow roll and better way to go. Crossing the midsection of America to see very big hills is more enticing than back roads America for this first week of our liberation from "dead motor home hell".

See you on Friday, the 14th. Can't wait to see all of you.

Steve - my theory is - don't traverse mountains if you're not staying there... you're getting 3 nights in the area!

And by going south to Abq to get to Vegas - we didn't back track, got to see friends in Abq, Petrified Desert, Winslow, enjoyed Kingman, and passed by the Hoover Dam!

I did get to do Raton Pass. The small Flagstaff climb - that bridge at Hoover and now the pass from Mesquite, NV to St. George. Which BTW - I will do an over and back for a booze run. Got that tip from locals... and guess what else... there's a Casino in Mesquite!

We went to Walmart today... Annie got out if the car looked down and picked up a $50. We asked in the store - claiming an ethical dilemma. They said what dilemma - it's yours now.

I felt guilty after taking these pics of the Temple today.

Good thing you have acquainted yourself with Boot Hill. I am now sufficiently equipped to send ya to Water Gun Hill.
