We are in Greenfield, CA, at the YANKS RV Resort. Very nice Resort. However, the winds right now are at 19 mph and gusting higher than that. Tomorrow is wine country. Hmm! Maybe I'll just sit here and "wine." (like in Whine)

Wayne, Are you getting anywhere near us like to Whitby Island or that area? Depending on the day we may be able to do a mini in Seattle if we take the walk on clipper. Or just drive on the Sidney Anacortes ferry and meet you and Earlene and Miya in that area.

Enjoy the wine country Wayne. Treat Earlene right. Only the finest vineyards - and I don't mean Boons Farm or Thunderbird!

It was warm here today too. Tomorrow we will try to head for Zions. I say try because we will need to get up and go... and some mornings I can't find mine. Wednesday is last minute shopping for Bryce and packing up for the drive on Thursday. As it is with all Mutant Curiosities, I can't believe it's finally here.

To all you on the way to Bryce... be safe, hydrate, don't run up the hills too quickly and downshift an additional gear going down.

To all of you that can't make it, we will have a special toast to you one evening!

To all mutants everywhere - Arizona this winter... likely to be Mini Cs as folks have their favorite parks. But we will do some planning in Bryce to see if we can't come up with something. There are only so many ways out of Arizona with 10 and 40 being the primaries.

The next big thing will be a GC... somewhere prior to heading to the Maritimes sometime prior to fall...

OK well that's all I know other than.... I have playin cards - play $s and coins and see a poker game ending in a shoot out in the near future. As I recall - Wild Bill was holdin Aces and Eights when Jack McCall* shot him in the back of the head.

* Not to be confused with McCall Idaho.

The Discovery has landed in Jacob Lake and boy what a trip! Yesterday a monsoon caused a mudslide that closed hwy 89A diverting us to Page, AZ then around to Kanab, Ut. It was a nice drive, added about 2 hours BUT! In Page they had a local road project going on and flag men directing us away from the site, between businesses but no signs as to where to go from there. Found a lot to pull over and zoom in on the area and find my way out! Sometimes the Journey is the adventure! Tomorrow we see the Grand Canyon from the north side!

Wonder what it will look like from the other side...

This Time Travel is tiring! Our detour today carried us up into Ut. Then back down to AZ again. My phone and iPad said one time, Mary's phone said another and Mary's Kendal had a third time on it.

Think we must be in a time warp!

No definite time plan at the present. Just slowly making our way North. The winds subsided and the temperature has dropped here in Greenfield, CA. As we get closer to one of the areas I'll let you know and we can set up a plan. I think Anacortes would be cheaper for you. We'll talk.

Mine is the Old Peculiar.

These are known here as real ales. Theakstons are sponsoring the Old Peculiar crime writing contest and it occurred to me that Steve might like to enter his M@RLG. Go Google them to find out details.
Oh happy days. Many a great evening on Old Peculiar. There are many Real Ales available with great names too, Bishop's Tipple springs to mind.
Are you guys planning on visiting Wales, Cardiff my home city has some wonderful sights including a Norman Castle right in the city center. Brains Beers are the local choice. We Welsh are of course the original Brits, the bloody English arrived very lately about 1,000 years ago....something about a battle in Hastings and some bloke called Norman in 1066.
Be safe and have fun, you're in a beautiful part of the country.

With all due respect, Norman was a Frenchman who conquered the Anglo Saxons. Before that, of course, the Romans ruled the roost but left in about 4 AD if my history is correct. But they did leave behind some very straight roads.

I'm sorry we will not get into Wales this trip - we leave tomorrow for another foreign land, Scotland where my sister lives in St Andrews.

Thanks. We are indeed in a beautiful part of the world and loving it. We lived the first 4 years of our married life about 20 miles from the rental cottage we are staying in, but had never gotten out this far into the depths of the Cotswolds. These are tiny village on tiny roads in tiny valleys (combes) on the sides and edges of huge escarpments. Challenging for the driver, and thank heavens for the GPS!

No, no Wales this trip, as Martin said. We have been to Cardiff, though, together and separately, me to a tatting day and both to sightsee. Martin says that's also where he and his first wife filmed Shirley Bassey's daughter's wedding. Wedding videos was their part time business.

Betws y Coed and Portmeirion might have been my favorite places in Wales, but Hay on Wye has to be right up there too, along with Tintern Abbey. Difficult to choose just one!

We should figure out a miniC! We could compare notes on Angles and Britons and blue war paint and .... Brains Beers! Cheers!

Good Morning Mutants!
Looks like a little rain possible here in St. George, also I'm Zions. Will likely make the trip to the park anyway... but waiting on my get up and go to complete the cycle.

Looks like the weather in Bryce is turning cooler as we draw (pardnar) closer to the curiosity... I'm ready for some cooler weather. Anyone else think cooler is a good thing!
