Turnips and potatoes ... Scottish soul food. I had them along with haggis in a whiskey cream sauce.
Missed out on the Cullenskink this time: smoked fish stew. Not available south of the border. 😁

OK, I like turnips and 'taters...but I'd have to pass on the haggis!! Glad you are having fun, Sue. I'm loving all the photos. "Hi" to Martin.

SIL sent Earlene a picture of Galveston and the RR Museum at the end of the strand had flooding on the first floor. I'd bet that the Strand had some high water in the streets. For those who have not been to Galveston, the Strand street is below the store fronts by a couple feet. After the 1900 hurricane everything in Galveston that could be raised was raised 17 feet at the sea wall and everything else in Galveston was raised. See: Raising Galveston
Now if they could just get that rain to come to California, Oregon, and Washington, some fires would be extinguished. We stopped our trip North because of the fires. Herb confirmed what we expected had we started East into Montana.

BTW, still no word on Bow, except that Freightliner told me yesterday afternoon that she's in a bay and they're looking for where the oil leak is. We are on pins and needles.

Y'all are having way too much fun at Bryce! And food? Can it get any better?
Wayne and Earlene -- Darn! I was hoping you would make it to Seattle but I don't blame you for wanting to avoid the fire areas. Thankfully we don't have any near us.
I found this wildfire map for any of you traveling north or west
Public Information Map
Be careful y'all!

Thanks Barb. A couple years ago we traveled through the area of fires and Earlene ended up in the emergency room from the smoke. No sense experiencing that again. The weather has been great with the highs in the low to mid 70's and the lows around 62-65˚. At least we are beating the Texas heat.
Hey Herb and Barb, where are you?

Attention Mutants, be on the lookout for Wayne and Herb! Seems they don't know where they're at! If they had been at Bryce they wouldn't of had that problem!

You caught that too Tim. Lol.
Thing of it is, is... I'm not sure either of them could handle this much fun.
