Timster never fear, Wayne and I are in tune as two old mutants can be so we know where we are. Besides with Barb and Earlene we are never lost cause they are telling us how to drive and where to go!

Today we ate afternoon "brunch" on Cannery Row at a nice Mexican restaurant. As you can see in the first picture, our view was of sea life - a seal. The next picture was a few blocks inland and where else except in Cali.

For those who like maps, I've taken a few screen shots of where we are (until tomorrow morning). Look for wonderful place names!
We drove east through Alnwick, past the Harry Potter/Hogwarts castle, to Seahouses (picturesque but extremely crowded: dang tourists!) and moved on to Craster for sea watching, kippers, and supper.
We've been west through Pondicherry, Thropton, Sharperton, Snitter, and Harbottle, almost as far as Barrow Burn. Somehow we missed Tosson. Also missed the recommended tea rooms at Barrow Burn because we didn't carry on far enough. They are reputed to make a splendid bacon sandwich. Darn!
This very isolated farmstead is only 10 miles or so from Rothbury, but might as well be 50. The Coquet River is the same river we see from Westcliffe House.
Instead, we had lunch at The Rose and Thistle in Alwinton.
Chicken and leek pie with very puffed pastry and vegetarian lasagna. Most offerings accompanied by chips and peas. 😱 Fat, soft fries, the preferred chips here. Typical pub grub, but not our favorite.
The RV park we can see across the valley turned out to be 1,000 park models, plus another 500 in the adjoining park. Not very interesting, eh? Nice manager, though and a pretty location. There was this huge beech tree trunk at the entrance. Our place is somewhere across the valley and up the hillside.
Another chapter later, I think. We're beginning to pack for tomorrow's sojourn south. Another map will show you our trajectory.
Beam me up, Scotty!

Island Update.
Aside from a few small glitches like blowing the seals or hose on one of the front hydraulic jacks the first day rendering my leveling system useless for the whole trip, things have been great.
The only catastrophic event was we blew out the hinges on the toilet seat and for a few days using the Lou was a nightmare. I could here screams and some words I won't repeat from the room on many an occasion. I finally mustered all my skills together and ventured forth on a quest to find a replacement. Not one RV shop on the island carried the brand of toilet we have. I found a Home Hardware and made a few trips to find one the right colour and close enough shape.
Cheers were heard from the Brandt family following the installation of the new acquisition and use of the facilities has become pleasurable once again.
One other event comes to mind. One evening, in an effort to provide one of the many courses of sustenance, Bonnie used the convection oven while the A/C was on and blew the breaker on the pedestal. We couldn't get the breaker to reset. It was hotter than Hades in the coach.
An evening of discovery including resort maintenance and a bevy of electricians ensued. The result of which was to let the breaker box cool down and after an hour we turned the A/C on and "Voila"! We were chillin again.
Order restored.
Weather has been absolutely perfect. Hot and sunny with an occasion of high alcohol consumption followed by some very slow days with little movement so as to not hinder the recuperation process.
Today we pack up to leave Parksville and head south of Nanaimo for the remainder of our holiday.
Ciao for now.
Island Man out.

Great report Dog...
These little set backs on the road can be challenging, but it's all part of the journey.
If you get your two gals to smile it would make a nice pic for we mutants... and one of you would be appreciated as well. Wish you were here.

Yep Les it sounds like you've got things under control. Someday we'll try to get close enough to meet. The weather here at Bryce is great. Many with AC off and windows open, I now know what that screen door is for!
