Diane... speedy healing on your hand... sorry you had to endure the embarrassment of admitting to your kids you fell...Fellas get funny about mom doing things when she gets hurt...mine banned me from climbing onto the roof to adjust my antenna TV....called me too old! to do that.

I spoke to the Poobah today about Feb and March. I still have them open. Hopefully we - or someone else can come up with a location we can use sometime during those months. Otherwise - it's mini Cs where and when we can. And of course Mel and Kates big adventure!

The reason I'm inquiring about some fairgrounds in the southern half of AZ for a GC or Midi-C is because the place (AZ) increases in population about 30% with the coming of winter in the north. Bazillions of RV's can be spotted on I-10 in late December and January. During good weather forecasts add I-40 to the workload.

The park in Apache Junction we're staying at (Bonita Springs) was missing loads of RVs when we were there in late September. About 20% of the park was empty sites but they were spoken for in November thru March or April for annually returning snowbirds.

It's virtually impossible to find room for 8 - 10 RVs for 6 - 10 days.

I could handle Quartzite for 4 or 5 days. Pack more into fewer days, visiting-wise, and then head back to Apache Junction. I'd be willing to go for 2 or 3 days just to see some mutant type folks. Can't be very fancy, laden with food preps, electronic extravaganzas, etc., but it would still be fun, fun, fun.

I should have mentioned we were waiting along with you for return emails / info. I agree on all points.

Picking up our shiny new rainbow rider next week. A week or so locally to pack,re-pack and pack again then we list off Nov 10th. I know pics or it didn't happen...they'll be here. 95 north to 10 take a left and see where we go from there.
I'll be posting some questions in a group.
Be safe

I have $500 deductibles, AARP/Hartford. Of course my RV is 15 years old my Focus is a 2012. My cash is 90% IRA so a umbrella seems useless to me. $1081 per year for both.

I have a great childhood story...
5 years old, found my Dad's crescent wrench and took off my training wheels. I went down the street, turned into a empty parking lot. I didn't know about tar and resealing of asphalt, rode my bike in to practice my skills. Fell several times and had to drag my bike out because I couldn't ride in slippery tar. I went home, my mother took me to the basement, put me in stationary tub and scrubbed me with comet cleanser. 1955 I can still remember!

I'm going to look into Quarzsite in March. Water trucks and honey wagons?

How does this work for anyone. Could you see yourself for say 5 days doing this?
I could.
Come in with a full tank of water. Start with empty tanks. Start with a full tank of fuel to run your genny. On yes, one more thing, get about 5 boxes of good baby wipes with Shea butter and Aloe. I've done this, with paper plates, this is doable and FUN!!!
