Have a friend that checked for a leak in a hydraulic hose on a backhoe using his fingers. Cut the end off of one finger completely!

Dave I used the ribbon on a broom handle cause I didn't fit under the coach! Especially since the front bags wouldn't raise the front of the coach!

I love the idea of how that works. Maybe a piece of silk would work if you didn't have a ribbon handy

Our house sets back in the woods. We have no outside nite lights so it's pretty dark and scary already, that coupled with the barking dogs and the two old cranky people that live here decorating is not necessary!

In the nearly 30years we've lived here we have Never had any trick or treaters!

But each year we always buy a bag of candy just in case. Of course it's only a excuse to have some candy that we like around the house.

I don't seem to have kids in my block. Lots of older folk. My sister on the other hand, whose birthday IS Halloween, she tends to get lots of kids. One year over 100 showed up. So the happenings are always over her house which may also explain why I don't ever get kids here - I'm never here!!!

Good Morning Mutantville!

Tim, it's nice to see you haven't been stuffed and mounted and hung on the wall in somebody's den. I'm sure Mary is also glad about that .... On second thought, maybe we should ask her. ;-)

Dennis, did you grow up in the Ozarks?

Wayne, don't forget that I owe you and Earlene dinner. I'll make you some homemade chicken enchiladas next time we cross paths.

Steve, Pahrump looks and sounds like a great place for an RVer! Don't think we will make it that far west this first year, but there is always next year.

Ok, now a word to all you lurkers, murkers, and newbies who aren't posting ... Jump in! Tell us about yourselves. Ask questions. Post opinions, thoughts, ideas and funnies. Interrupt any of this stream of conscious crap we put out there with something meaningful. Please. Just jump in, hang on and go with the flow.

And if you're hanging around here, that means you probably have the Mutant gene. As the Potentate said (many times), "Just tell us what you don't have and don't miss on your RV, and declare that the journey is the destination!"

And you silent RVMs (some with low numbers and some with higher numbers) jump in here and stay connected to Mutantville!!!

Tim, did you finally get that hissing cat out from under the coach? I bet that ribbon on the broom handle did the trick. Cats love chasing a ribbon on a stick.

I know one should avoid politics here but I have to share this:

Go to YouTube and put in a search for 'lip sync debates'. You will find several videos there that are hilarious.

Mama nature decorates for me... I have flower beds around the front and back, and a large rectangular yew, so I get those orb weaving garden spiders every year and they make the best decor.... then if it frosts before Halloween, dead plants complete the horror.
We live far enough out we don't get kiddos coming for tricks or treats.
Although, I have often thought about putting out a scarecrow since we live on Old Kansas City Road, and a few miles North of us, there is someone with a tin man in their yard they decorate for each holiday. He is set up on a hill waving at the traffic going by... I've always thought it would be fun for another family to have the Courageous lion, another to have a scarecrow, and another to have a Dorthy & Toto out by the road... ... We live 1 town down the road from a town called Osawatomie, where there is a state mental hospital, and affectionally referred to as OZ by folks living around here....

Good morning Mel, Tim, Carl and all mutants everywhere.

Mel - Pahrump is a nice place and the park is too (and yes a little pricey lol). It does seem we are a little late in the year as the wind the is a bit high the past 2 days and out of the north - to north west. And of course the rain that hit the desert earlier in October has the roads washed out for two of the most popular roads in Death Valley. Kind of sad but the neighbor went the other day and says there is still much to see. So it remains on the to do list.

We have also heard that the road into China Ranch Date Farm is pretty rough after the rain but we may make that trek anyway. Dave raves about date shakes so if we can - we will give them a try. Although I'm always good with a nilla shake!

http://www.chinaranch.com/

Another attraction is the Ash Meadows Wildlife Refuge.

http://www.fws.gov/refuge/ash_meadows/

The website indicates some road closures as well.

Current road closures*due to severe road damage and wet and muddy conditions (as of 10/23/2015):*

Longstreet Road is*CLOSED Crystal Loop Road is*CLOSED
Spring Meadows Road at the WEST entrance (NV 373) is CLOSED

Open Roads:

Spring Meadows Road is*OPEN*at the SOUTH entrance (Bell Vista Rd/State Line Rd).*NO THRU TRAFFIC.*on Spring Meadows Road*
Devils Hole Road is*OPEN*through to Crystal, NV. Point of Rocks Road is*OPEN.

Locals have indicate Devils Hole at Ash Meadows is worth the trip. So it remains on the list as well.

Good morning Marty... you jumped in while I was rambling...

Hope you're doing well. Since Bob doesn't talk retirement, tell him Steve says retiremebt is great and way better than w**k!

Anyone else agree with the above? Let's all lend some support Martys way and help her tell Bob how good retirement is. Lol.. wink wink.

Not I said the geocacher. We live out away from lots of people, on a dead end road and in the mountains. Not too much action out this way except hunters that are lost.
