Now our task is to establish a workable schedule for the most mutants.

I would say that:
1) the area of Arizona is quite doable.
2) The cost is really decent.
3) The sites are good enough for a week's stay (pictures show that some of us will need to purchase some "stinky Slinky" extensions or plan of visiting the dump station once or twice).
4) The facilities at the park seem adequate (might have to fire up a couple propane campfires as a last resort).
5) the park seems to be willing to accommodate our "special needs".

So . . . . . let me call the RV office at PCF. I will check or double check on:
1. definite dates open to a gathering of mutants so we can "circle the wagons" and really have a shindig
2. Availability of campfire rings
3. putting together a set of choices to put before all of you mutants that can head to Tucson in January or February.
4. get the park's input on where the best area is for a group like ours (close to pavilion, close to mid-coach sewer hook-ups, close to area where they or we can move picnic tables to our sites, etc)

If you prefer, I can gather input from you at an alternate website but I have no idea how to do that and I don't know if all mutants could or would follow our progress in planning. I don't want to "clog up" our thread with info that concerns 8 - 15 sets of mutants. SO HELP ME PLEASE ON THE ALTERNATE SITE

Stay tuned to this thread. I'll try to work on this planning thing during November and have things ready to "run by ya'all" as soon as possible.
Steve and Dave.. well done youse..!

Plan on!
Not sure what we will do but are now booked in Yuma for Feb 8 - Mar 8. Cocopah was nearly full - unless you were 28 feet. It's about 4 hours from there to the fair grounds.

I've learned a lesson on winter in Az. There are tons of parks and 1,000 of spaces - and they begin to get scarce in some places by November. Doh. Should have know - plan early for winter curiosities in AZ - and probably most places.
-----

On another note Steve - I think we will pass on the hockey game. But we will find something to do. Perhaps cocktails and wok fried fish...

As far as a get together here in AZ besides the gathering at DHRSP keep us in the loop, we will definitely try to make it happen. Normally after going to Apache Junction, we boondock for 6 - 7 days in Quartzsite and I look for parts for my repair bin in the coach, then we motor to Yuma to the Riverfront RV park. It's a great park and a great value as well. Last year we spent two months there, but this year we will probably cut that short. Keep me informed

Cheers !!!!!

Steve, saying no on the hockey game is just fine. Hockey played by two teams you don't know is not preferred by too many people south of Vancouver. That's cooked fish, right? PF Chang's in Scottsdale may still be having their 3 course special going on. Can't beat it for the price.

I was thinking all along that Feb. 1 - 7 would be good for many. Many will be moving about at the end of January and some mutants will just be arriving in the arid southwest about then. However, I will get some dates and run a poll of likely attendees.

Time for a little fiction, the following was not sent to anyone but applies to everyone. Read carefully as the impact could be humorous.

Hi, I'm Becky with the Arizona Department of Tourism. We were recently informed you may be planning a trip to beautiful Arizona. In a effort to make your stay the most it can be we utilize our immense database connected with other Department of Tourism offices across the nation to shape our suggestions to you and your group for maximum enjoyment.

We find that your group, The RV Mutants have been in contact in the past with the tourism department at Hot Springs, AR. We feel your stay in Arizona will equal that of most any other place in the nation as our weather and amenities are outstanding. Further check of our database reveals no outstanding warrants for those attending your past rallies but do require full disclosure for those visiting our area. We do have some concerns about a responsible party in your group as for your safety and the safety of others in the area during your visit. Please forward the name and contact information for this person to us as we were warned that we don't want a bunch of crazed Mutants running around Willie Nillie.

We here at the Arizona Department of Tourism and the Arizona National Guard along with the Arizona State Police look forward to your visit. Thanks for your quick reply!

Jeff we should be in Phoenix in about 3 weeks. I've had mail sent to a friend there. I also plan to visit the BLM office looking for a prime boondock site. I see a mini-C in our future.

Thanks for the spreadsheet Di.
I beginning to think it's going to be mini Cs until the April Dead Horse Curiosity for us. I need to book March soon and am leaning toward going back toward Eloy - AJ to put us near Cottonwood / Dead Horse. Will let ya know...
