DH saw a yearling bear in the neighbors yard today but didn't have a camera with him. And lots of rain today. Otherwise it's slow around here too.

It's so slow around here I was thinking about going back to work.
Decided to take a nap instead at least till those funny feelings cleared up!
Now here it is 1am and I'm wide awake!

Well mutants - time to rethink the May GC@CL...
I received a nice email from Jennifer at CL as follows...

"I am familiar with your group and know t*hat it is important for your group to ha*ve use of the pavilion area. The pavili*on has been rented for May 6-8 and April* 29-May1. I would like to suggest ,if p*ossible, to move your dates to May 12-18* departing the 19th*,or April 21-27 departing the 28*th*.*"

So time to rethink this. Maybe look elsewhere... back to the drawing board.

Wow, that far in advance, huh. Certainly earlier would elevate the risk of a repeat of the Hail of a GC. And if the dates lean more into May, I've been thinking of attending the FESWGC, it's only 2k miles from Ruskin and in the dead of winter, it'd be a great break for being a Northerner...and I've never been in the desert before

That was a FREAK HAIL. It is not common. I have never seen it.

But the spring tornado chances are equally as high in May as in April. The weather we get in Arkansas is the same the day before in Dallas, then it moves into Memphis.

Weather happens where ever. You cannot schedule around hail. But as for us we will try for wherever and will come to as many as we can.

I still think Branson area is good. But dont know which parks are good.

X2 Di . . . . . . . . . It's just as predictable and probable as coming upon a wreck on I 40 in northern Arizona and realizing this fact - "If I was here an hour ago I would have missed this mess" and then thinking- "If I was here 20 minutes earlier, I would have been involved in this mess".

Folks still live in Joplin, OKC, Galveston, and Homestead. Being hit by a swipe of mother nature's wrath is pure luck (or misfortune).

R U an RV Mutant too?

Hay there, STMs!
Our visits with friends have slowed down, we are FINALLY back into our retirement stride, and playing with Gwen is happening more.
As a result, my RVMdom ponders are on the upswing.
The Kimono will open again at the FESWGC. An RVM Mascot roll call will be taken. Initiation rites to new GC attendees will be performed. And there will be BACON. Now, to piece together the wild figments that are flashing about my synapses and repackage them for the Opening!
Can I get an OH YEAH?

Yes Dennis! You especially should be VERY nervous. You know the initiation attire for men is a mankini! One size fits most so you might be able to borrow Wayne or Tim's.

Tell Denise the ladies wear kimonos on opening night.

You do realize, I hope, that you are expecting wonders wanting a mankini to cover this vast waistland.
I think there may be a competition to see who gets to qualify as 'his roundness.'

I will inform her ladyship of that requirement.

It will give her another reason to go shopping; like she needs one.

I did tell you she holds a black belt in shopping and is working her way to higher placement.
