I'll let Mike answer that...
He's a great guy - first rate mutant. He would fit right in.

Finally - a beautiful day in Vegas topped off by a great lunch with RVM123 and tonight a Birthday party at the West Wing of KS and MZ Crudes. RVMutants are the finest people you'd ever want to meet!

What on earth is a death wobble, if you don't mind me asking. The last time I had a front end wobble was a 1966 VW. Their kingpins would go bad and eventually wheels fell off.

The so called death wobble is where your front wheels oscillate from left to right and back quite forcibly. It seems the only way to stop it is to come to a rest and then continue. There is some interesting chat on the Jeep forums about this problem which affects towed Cherokees and there is a theory developing that having the ignition off turns off an "anti shimmying" piece of software. Apparently, this nifty system detects the onset of shimmy and uses the electric steering system and the brakes to counteract the problem. Over 30 people on the Jeep forum have said they have experienced the wobble but none have suffered any damage. None have reported shimmy over 15 mph.
What an exciting life we lead.
( also maybe some exciting Tuscany news soon - maybe )

My Smart Car will also have the front wheels jerking left and right in a tail wagging the dog scenario. It has only happened when I made a very sharp turn, usually out of a tight parking lot. The Smart forum discusses putting a 36" bungee cord thru the steering wheel and attached under the front seat. I have enough things to remember before heading out.
And yes, I tried having a checklist but Sena found it and shredded it. Now I know there are 13 steps to connecting Smarty and and 4 "make sure they are done" items before turning the ignition key. When I can no longer count to 13 it will be time to hang up the keys for good.

Well we're here in Pensacola FL. 10 days out full time. Everything running as smooth as a gravy sandwich.
What an incredible machine this is.
We're so looking forward to Arizona for the great event and to be meeting so many of you crazy head bangers.
Be safe
