My mom's doctor told us there is a mass in the upper lobe of her right lung that is not pneumonia. Around 6:00 am, he is going to send a camera down through her nose and into the lung to take a look at it. He will scrape some of the tissue and cuture it. There is a chance her weakened lung could collapse. She is putting on a brave front, and has told us she is at peace with whatever the outcome is.
Thanks for the ommmmms for my mom, Di's mom, Dwayne's dad, and all others who are facing medical crises.
Happy, happy birthdays to Sue and to Dennis! (And to any others who are celebrating another year of life.) Every day is a gift!
While his mommy gave his great grandmother (my mom) a manicure and pedicure in the hospital room, my sis (his grandmother) and I took my little 4 year-old great nephew Brody to the mall to see Santa. When he rounded the corner to the Santa & Elves area, he threw his arms wide and ran straight to Santa, jumped on his lap, wrapped his arms around Santa's neck, laid his head on Santa's broad shoulder, and ever so sincerely, said, "I been missing you!" The elves cried, we cried and so did everyone around who witnessed his unabashed excitement and love. It was so pure and innocent. I'll never forget it!
Merry Christmas, Mutants every where!

Oooms for your mom, Mel, (I haven't read ahead, so don't know the outcome of her procedure yet) and for you and the family. She is fortunate to have her folks close around her at this time. And that precious Brody must warm her heart, as he has done mine. Thanks for sharing, both pain and joy.

Oooms, Di, for both you and your mom. Sure hope the hospital can get control of the infection this time!
I've been feeling bad already that you can't hold a pencil or a paintbrush yet. It seems too long to me, and particularly wrong for an artist. Is this a different surgeon from the one who did the original work? Which bones did you break? (Curious OT needs to know.)
Cheers and yet more Oooms.

snort... giggle... I think I had too much to drink tonight! LOL! I lack discipline to get it done.

Oh yeah! Can I ever relate! Managed to clear my closet by about half last month, but then stalled. Pffft!
At least Bob seems to have cheered you up! Good man!

Right hand 5th metacarpal bone (under pinky), under the knuckle, no cast just ace wrap.... Called a boxer's break... That is the normal treatment according to Dr Google.... But the one who originally called it was ortho.... This one i will be seeing is an ortho hand specialist, added bonus, she was oldest sons gross anatomy partner... Chance of surgery... Coukd be tendons or ligament damage as it is still swollen and bruised... But her call.... Starting to hold paint brush lightly, but not pencil.... But using it makes it hurt more... Will see... Son saw her and talked to her yesterday.... Been 8 WEEKS...... Too long....
Ok friends.... Here is the honest truth on how i broke the darn thing.... Dumb, dumb, dumb.....
Wasnt wearing my seat belt in new rv... We were almost home from GA picking it up... Car pulled in front if us on exit, 10 miles from home..... Well.... Apparently the brakes in new rv are really good ones, as it sent me into the windshield.... Hand hit, upper chest hit dash.... Dumb.... You better believe it. I now wear them faithfully in rv.... So it was my dumb.... Ok JNE and Earlene, truth is out.... Smile
Thanks Sue.... For me and mom...

Try doing it by categories. Clothes first, books next, .... I broke down the clothing category and got as far as shoes and/or handbags before stalling. Too much else to get on with, including the gift knitting and its mailing deadline.
