Mutants, forgive the interruption of the discussion of the upcoming GC in Tucson, but we have exciting news!!! We are the proud grandmothers of a beautiful baby BOY! Wesley Gene Olsen ("Wes") arrived on Saturday with all his fingers and toes intact, weighing in at a hefty 9 lbs 3 oz and measuring 20".

Big sister Gwen (20 months) thinks she has her very own, live doll! DS and proud papa Mark and DDIL and mommy Merrell are, as you can imagine, thrilled! Wes's middle name, Gene, is for one of Merrell's grandfather's. A tremendous honor for him!

Unfortunately, we can't get to Austin to see Wes and Gwen until my %/&#£$x@ knee can make the 7 hour drive ... I'm hoping early March. We can hardly stand waiting!!!

Mutants, meet Wes! (And big sister, Gwen, who loves to help garden!)

It's an electrical solution with a button that makes the steering wheel smaller. (Distance of matter)

This evening Martin and Sue accompanied us to Kelly's Restaurant in La Marque, TX. We had warned them of the quantity of food that would be served so ask for the "senior" portion. Alas, we all forgot to ask. Sue had grilled fish with 3 sides, Martin had roast beef with 3 sides, Earlene and I each had chicken fried steak with 3 sides.

The proof is in the pictures.

p.s., price of each plate is $8.49 + tax + drinks, and well worth the money. MMMMmmm! Think left overs.

Did anyone ever hear that everything in Texas is bigger?

I do remember reading that Pecos Bill's girlfriend had a butt that was three axe-handles wide; if that's what you mean?
