I not only lost an hour of sleep last night, I lost many!!! Dang tree fell down from the wooded border of my yard onto all the wires from the street to my house. Took out the power, all the internets, etc. It was not fun. The power company at least responded quickly as it's still considered winter time and they must respond to downed wires within two hours. Still got to schedule getting the rest of the wires restrung so they're not lying in the driveway...ugh...

Hate to hear that Carl. I'm trusting no damage to the S&B?

Dennis and Denise,

Congrats on the new mutant in the family. Any young man with 3 first names is destined to be an RVM.

Ok, so yesterday most of the country went on daylight savings time, but Arizona doesn't observe DST. Since I'm now in Arizona and many of you are not, I want to advise all that I will remain time confused until further notice.

That surprises me. I thought you were only used to the ones you sat down in that have a hole where you sit. Don't you still have one on the property? BTW, I do remember using them when I was a youngster in Moses's day.

This may be apocryphal but I did read of an instance where a person leaving held the door open for the next customer, saving him the entrance fee. That follower got a good wash and brush up and upon leaving, his wife could not stop laughing.
I got a good visual from that story.

Now you do know that the whiskey has no bearing on the fixin's except that it gets the honey and lemon into the blood stream faster. Well, almost none. Save the honey and lemon and just drink enough whiskey and you won't care about the crud.

p.s., great story on nephew. He is a champion and you know what they say. What goes around comes around and he went around and Meagan came around. Wonderful man and wife.

Congratulations! Oh Lord, thank you for making Connor Malcolm Cameron looking like his father instead of his grandfather. There is no way this world needs two ugly people.

Heh heh...something seems to be working in the mix... things are loosening up and I feel a tad better today. I suspect it is the horehound I had sitting on the shelf infusing vodka...I added a few dropperfuls to the mix. Yesterday, I was thinking I wasn't going to beat this on my own without a trip to the MD... today I have changed my mind about that, we shall see how it goes tomorrow morning...

Oh Carl... That is bad, good that the electric company got your power back on, but wires down on the driveway is precarious!

Yea, no damage to the S&B. It was about 50 feet in front of the house. More of a major inconvenience since the phone lines and internets all need to be raised back up off the ground. Probably not till Monday at the earliest.

What's worse was a few years back the same thing happened when a tree in front of my house fell on the corner of the house and did the same thing - took all the wires down. That time it caused damage to a roof rafter or two and had to get an electrician out to restore the power - but all those trees are gone now so that's the surprise this time. It wasn't my tree but this wooded area next to my driveway. I guess there's an owner there but they don't maintain that area so I wind up using it for firewood. Guess I need to be a little more aggressive in my tree trimming on that side

Oh crap, if you'll pardon my French! What a night for you .. and a day or more too, I'm guessing. But you're okay? And the roof?
