I had that problem and it turned out they needed to be lubed up. Crawled underneath with some silicon spray and worked it into all the moving joints. Took a few ins and outs to make it work smooth again, but it worked. Your situation might be different so can't say what I did would work for you guys, but one never knows. I think when they sit in the out position for long periods of time, that's when they get jammed up.

On a serious note... the steps wouldn't go in with the engine on... and it will go into drive and still not go in...
On a lighter note. You need to perfect a Mel and Kates Mutant Coleslaw - Murphys Slaw... oh the humanity!

Hey Mel that happened to our steps as well, and it was the magnetic switch on the screen door. Might start by replacing that.... two colors available make sure you get the correct one. One is white other black, they operate in reverse of each other. One is an open circuit when the switch is together, the other is closed.
Feel free to call or pm me.

They would get more hair off my legs than my head!
But if I could I would.

I dedicated mine in honor of my buddy that passed away from Ca at age 53. They put his name on it and gave it to his widow. I had forgotten how much time going to get a hair cut took! My barberette had thought I had started going somewhere else!
