Possum - - thanx for the kind words concerning the FESWMG, but Mary Ann and I were assisted by several of our fellow mutants that made the event a success. Won't name names for fear of forgetting someone.
For mutants pondering a GC or a MC - - - organizing one of those shebangs is easier than it looks. Don't be fearful of organizing one yourself.
Steps:
1) Possess a burning desire to see fellow mutants again
2) Contact a RV park in your area that has 1) electricity 2) sewer 3) water 4) a willingness to accomodate our group 5) has an area large enough for communal meals and campfires (not totally necessary to have a hall)
3) Send out a invitation to all potentially interested mutants on this thread with location, dates, and cost
4) reserve X number of sites based on initial declarations of interest
5) fine tune as needed and don't over-organize (just get there and let it happen)
6) act as the "go between" tween mutants and campground

So OK - FL story...
the shop got the EGR replaced just fine, but when they updated the Cummins program they didn't reload some of the parameters.
We picked up Bonita and within 2 minutes I had a check engine light and no speedometer. Back we go. Three or four hours later we're on the road again. 5 miles down I-40 the engine goes into regeneration. Not that common of an occurrence but it happens. But then the stop engine light comes on - OK - a forced parked regeneration.
Clears itself and off we go. A few miles later another regen. The exit sign says Twin Arrows Casino. So I pull off and into the RV lot. The regen runs it's course but I figure it's as good a place as any to stop for the night.
Off on the road the next morning after a good night at the casino. Regen again almost immediately. No othere issues so we continue and it clears. I then notice there's a 6 mph difference between my speedo and the GPS speed. They've always been identical. I try to engage the cruise control and no go. The light comes on the dash to tell me it's on but it doesn't work. Geesh.
The coach is running and shifting great but gotta get the parameters reset cause I don't know what all could be out of wack. I called FL in Flag and they said - they would cover it if they caused it. Well - yes you will.
The other thing these guys did was break one of my TST sensors. I showed them the website and that the sensors are sold in pairs for $100. They knocked about $250 off the bill, but now I have to deal with replacing the sensor and the getting the computer straightened out.
Oh well, not really an issue but a general PITA...
So that's all I have to say about that... for now anyway.
Be safe mutants!

Papawto5 I know you had help from other mutants but I still think you are too modest. When an event of this mutant magnitude comes off so flawlessly then we all know there was a great deal of background work. I think you and your dear wife are being a tad too modest.
As has been evidenced at every GC and Midi and Mini the mutant family goes way out of its way to offer and give assistance.

Great list of what an organizer should be prepared to do. Looking forward to running into you and Mary Anne again somewhere on the rainbow.
Thanks again for all your hard work.

Mohmmms to Bonita...as I started reading I got a bad feeling right up front that they did something wrong. Guess they did (beyond the tire sensor). That's the bigger fear for full-timing, when problems occur, you're not always in a place where you can choose who works on things and such. Getting stuck with someone who messes things up further requiring additional downtime just stinks.
Dwayne - you're missing your calling - you should be the official, certified, full time Mutant Mechanic. You could be earning a living off us if you'd just show up when problems occur!

If one of our wonderful Texas neighbors would like to get the ball rolling, I would love to get a date & place & will try to attend...
I would love the Galveston, Dallas, Amarillo or anyplace that can accommodate our preferences...
Just food for thought, if anyone enjoyed the Catherines Landing, Hot Springs AR ( Without the Hail night )... That is part of a RV Resort group called: " RVC Outdoors & there is a property by Medina, TX... I looked at the web site & it looks pricey, but very promising... "rvcoutdoors.com"
Anyway, I would like to hear more ideas & attend if possible...

Wonder how many extension cords we can plug in at Mr a Rounds?

I dont know why I left San Antonio off my list... It is one of my favorite places too...

Tim, this is very tempting & hope to be able to drive over for a few days...
Ann sees many of the Corps Sites are closing because of high water... The way I remember it, the State Park is on higher land...
Anyway, I hope to schedule something to see that you are earning your keep, LOL..

Tim - we will probably go I-25 out of ABQ. And east from there. We're skipping DFW and trying to avoid Oklahoma - and just take our chances with Kansas weather. But we're settled in New Mexico for a bit.

Ah grasshopper! It is a backing in experience. First you back in, then we put the boards down stacked 3 high, then we (You or Me) back up onto the boards making darn sure you don't go off the back end as that would surely hurt something.
Here is what the finished expert driving will look like: (If need be, blocks under the jacks for an extra inch or two)

Disney World. Fort Explorer is the Disney campground. Have military discounts.

What about San Antonio? We are checking out Fredricksburg; that might be a possible spot too.
