Shout out to Mitch at Berkshire.... He was so nice on the phone yesterday. We had heard that Berkshire is great to deal with personally... He responded quickly... Larry had sent him an email, and then a few hours later larry was leaving a voice mail for Mitch... As he was talking, my phone rang... It was Mitch....
The gear box on the wardrobe slide is bad... Will send a new one for us.... The nearby RV dealer is a FR but not a Berkshire dealer, but the owner has a Berkshire, and is getting ready to order an XLT, and is happy to deal with us...
Hopefully only a few more days delay.... But at least now i see a company that cares.... To me that is HUGE.....
Diane toftSFM#64....... (The Original Fast Talking Sliding Finger Mutant) and is retired, duh!

Barb, I thought this was you until I read that it was male!
LANCASTER, Ohio – A pet monkey got loose in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Lancaster, Ohio Sunday night after apparently escaping from a recreational vehicle.
Video taken by Richelle Stewart shows a store employee trying to corral the diaper-wearing primate near the shopping cart return area.
When the man gets close, however, the monkey can be seen jumping from the metal railing and grabbing him by the arm and clothing. A woman runs up to the employee yelling, “Let him go, let him go, let him go! If he bites you, they will put him down.”
The woman grabs the monkey by the hand and walks to an RV parked in the lot.
A 911 caller told the emergency operator that the Wal-Mart worker had been bitten, but Lancaster police later determined that the animal had only grabbed the man, and that he was unharmed. Since he wasn’t hurt, no report was filed, according to police.
The Department of Agriculture is trying to identify the woman to find out of the monkey has been registered in Ohio, according to KSNW-TV.

By the time we got the coach back from the tech, it was pouring.
The good news is that he got through about half the list. Said he would complete tomorrow, IF he had a replacement ladder on hand. It won't be in until Wed, so we may get out Wed evening, but will probably stay over until Thu morning.
Anyone in a dry spell and need some relief?

Jake, you are headed the wrong way for great August weather. It is wonderful here in Seattle! I keep preaching to deaf ears here about the marvelous Pacific Northwest summers. From July thru September no rain, sunny skies and daytime highs in the 70's.
Mohmms for your coach problems.

The first pitch-in dinner tonight in the pavilion. All were too busy eating to notice the picture taking.

Oh no! It's incidents like this that cause SO much missinformation about monkeys. This scenario could never happen with Sena. My guess is that is a male macaque monkey. Males are much more likely to run away and macaques don't have sweet dispositions like Sena.
Sena is regularly off leash in busy parking lots and unless she sees food that she can steal, she stays on me, the car or the RV. If she finds food she steals it and retreats to back to a familiar high place to consume it.
AND ... Just so everyone knows -- Sena learned at the age of 2 months that monkey teeth and human skin NEVER make contact. Instead of biting, her tactic is to SCREAM VERY LOUD and run back to me to protect her. She has never broken skin on a human. She did bite a male capuchin once, but I could tell he said something very mean and nasty to her -- so he deserved it.
I hope that this incident in Ohio doesn't get blown out of proportion. It hurts all responsible monkey owners when the media reports any negative monkey events.

I heard from Laurie at the River Mountain RV park that there are 2 FHU sites available for the RVMoon GC next August.
More info later. I gotta go shower and get ready to have dinner out with my DD and SIL and the owner of the house they want to buy. He is selling everything and going full time in his new RV. Somehow she thinks we can charm him into a 90 day rental agreement so they can sell their house in Seattle prior to closing on the new house. Wish us luck!
