Anything before school starts and near Labor Day would be doubtful for a group of 15 - 20 mhs in the area of the bridge. I was planning on checking Aug.20 to Sept. 13 if that's what the group wants. I know, hunting camp.

Hey Dave... and anyone else who may have time on their hands... I've come to the conclusion that about the worst way to site an area is to try to sandwich it into a GC. So I'm just going to look at that time as either before or after seeing some of Michigan, the UP, Mitten or bridge.

So as this works it's way through the sausage maker, I'm going to try to figure out how to spend the time between leaving Central Illinois - probably mid May or thereabouts and whenever the Mutants take over Michigan!

Yes, Mackinaw City IS the tip of the lower peninsula mitten. Lots of beautiful places are on the other side of big bridges.

Oh No!! There is a dusting of snow on the mountain behind us. Last week blazing hot and smoke this week rain and snow on the mountain. I see an early start to winter travel.

Hey Di...
What's the name of the company you use for photo books? I'd like to give it a try and the ones you showed me were perfect.

Oh man, hope you two don't get lost! I've never heard of anyone not turning at Albuquerque.

We've had rain on and off all day and it's suppose to be all week. I sure hope so. Maybe it will chase the last of the smoke away. We've been having some clear days and then right back to smoke again.

Trinity Lake KOA, CA.
The finest day of the season for us. No smoke. 80 miles of CA 3. 22 miles of hairpins on a narrow road with no guard rails and sheer drop offs.
And the bestest park in the tall pines.

Carol doesn't like high bridges or crossing over water (or apparently being high above it). We took 101 south from Crescent City CA to Lakeside CA. Had the cliffs on one side and the Pacific on the other (probably would have been more beautiful except for the fog). Carol was scared all the way... took her another day to get settled down.
