Gonna burn the weed garden to see if I can get ahead on next year...then when it's all out and cold, toss a thick winter coat on it of spoiled hay. Never mind that it's almost 60 outside....I've thought about starting lettuce inside and putting up my hoops and plastic for it to get a head start on salad fixings...but too much other stuff demanding my attention....like holiday prep.(I try to do a thorough cleaning prior to putting decor up)

Food! [emoji490] Fire! [emoji91] How much more excitement does a body need?! Both together?

Now that "thorough cleaning" ... not so much. [emoji33]

I'm with you Sue on the cleaning - but we're pretty happy with the new Shark! It's almost self propelled.

So I took my BIL to the airport today. We did just what we always did. Chilled. James took advantage of the hot tub. And it was good see him again. Fran and Bob joined us for Thanksgiving and we all ate too much.

No pics except James and Bob...

Well, I put the fire out, while it may have been not too windy for Bob to fly, Down on the ground it seemed scary, I was too leery by myself and thought it might be a better project for 2 people to manage than just me n the hose... It kept crawling toward my hay bales, and so I rolled them out of the way, but I think 2 pairs of eyes will be a better option than just mine.

Yikes Marty! I'm glad you chose the cautious route.

I was going to comment likewise. Fire isn't a good thing to mess with unless you know you have control of it. Around these parts, you light a fire without a permit, oh, you know what's going to happen next

We have a permit, and Bob had burned brush earlier in the morning without incident...but that's a tad different, and he had it on the gravel driveway....it'll go fine if i move the hay bales further away and wet the ground around the garden area and have a person on each side. With water.

Sounds like a bit more excitement than you'd figgered on! Better safe and sociable -- with water. [emoji15] I'm glad you (and the hay) are safe and unsinged! Cheers!

Well of course!! We are in the South, right?

I'm going to try the Fried Oysters in it after my Brother leaves. Why waste them. Aw! He doesn't eat oysters.

Each to his own, eh?

We watched a bunch of Youtube videos about air fryers last night, reviews mostly, but also a QVC promo, till (a) they made us hungry and (b) we were tired of watching them. Some of the presenters are quite the character(s), like the bloke who cooked 4 whole chickens in 4 different AFs on 4 different electric circuits so as not to blow any breakers. Others are a bit obnoxious (can you say "QVC"?)

So far, we think an air fryer is not in our near future. The IP takes up a lot of counter space already and the AFs are enormous as well. Then there is the amount of heat they put out + fan noise. No way in the MH. YMMV, of course, but that's our opinion. Depends how much you like fried food, I guess.

Wonder how well an AF does pickles.

Pickles are good. Many recipes.
Chicken wings and legs came out real good. Takes about 15 or so minutes.
Our first try was chicken thighs. They came out real good - nice an moist.
Italian Egg Rolls came out good also.

My outside kitchen bay has a storage area for the IP and I'm thinking the AF will fit also. Just an unused space and perfect for the IP. Only take it out when we use it and then put it back when finished. it's something that is not used every day - for us.

p.s., of course Martin would have to give up some of his space. Right?
