I confess, I'm a "news junky". Enjoy reading the news every day with my coffee.
I served thirty years in the navy as an airframe mech. While at sea enjoyed reading what ever was available mostly the Pacific edition of the Stars and Stripe's. Later while at sea my daughter would send the sunday editions of the
Seattle times or sometimes when we were stationed in Japan, the Japan times. She always sent the funnies and the sunday supplements. I'd pass it around to my shipmates. It kept us "going" 'till the next mail call.
These days I get the Seattle Times still and the New York Times along with a local paper that comes out in our small town twice a week. Out on the road I get whatever is available.
Oh, and speaking of news, today in the New York Times, there was an article in the business section. The Environmental Protection Agency is issueing new standards that will require large truck manufacturers to increase their fuel efficiency by about a third. That would be up from the current average of six miles a gallon. This will apply to large trucks weighing up to 80,000 pounds built between 2019 to 2027. The article is a big long so i'll skip the details. The savings from doing this will be considerable. It also makes me think the technology that trickle's down to the Rv industry will be benificial. Perhaps the day will come when the monster 40 foot class "A" rigs will be able to get 12? 15?
miles per gallon instead of 7, 8, or 9 as they do now. My 2014 Winnebago Trend is inching up to 18 miles per gallon which I feel is a result of the earlier EPA efforts for medium size trucks and auto's. Last year on the road in Yellowstone park rolling a 2010 rental, 19 foot, Thor majestic from Cruise America with a ford engine, the best I got for mileage was 13 per gallon.
Anyway, time tell. I guess when the time comes I'll be reading about it in the papers.

I only read a newspaper because I've been too happy to long and reading one will get me p___ed off for an hour, before I get happy again due to not reading a newspaper. Ignorance is bless.

X2! Was a news junkie. Had multiple pill cocktail to contain blood pressure and cholesterol. Anxiety was thorough the roof. I was a coiled spring. Quit watching the news and reading the paper about 5 years ago. I am healthier and happier now because of it. My philosophy is that if I can't change it, have no influence in its outcome, or it doesn't immediately affect me...I don't want to know about. 'Nuff said!

As for puzzles....they have Apps for that.
