Rear camera fixed, I'm quite the electrician !

My rear MH camera was inop. Traced all wires ect.

I shook the heck out of lead in wire going into monitor.

Now it works.

When my rear camera quit, I posted to the forum and Dunner told me to push the input buttons. Dang thing worked! I or more probably the monkey that I live with must have pushed the button by accident changing it to an unused channel.

This is the type of repair I like -- quick and free!

When it happens again, pull the plug out of the back of the monitor and look at the small terminals in the plug on the wire. When mine did that I found one of the terminals was spread out and made intermittent connection on the pin. I wedged a small piece of wire into the plug by the spread terminal and it tightened it up. No problem since.

For mechanical items, a general rule of thumb is "Don't strain yourself, get a bigger hammer."

I loved the answers this morning. Made my day. Glad you got it fixed. For the more difficult problems I may find on my MH, I found that a 3 # sledge hammer works wonders.

I find that I never have a sledge hammer with me when needed for repair on the road.

In a pinch, I've used my 12 lb. splitting maul and found it to be a very diverse tool for both tenderly nudging and severing for those projects needing some finesse.

I call that my "finishing" hammer. That's what it usually does.
