regarding classic car insurance
Looking for classic car insurance apart from the RV that I own. I'm in IL, enjoying my retirement life with my wife and want to get an idea about insurance company options from everyone's experience.

In my opinion, Hagerty is an outstanding company to use for classic car insurance. In the past, we've had a stock '29 Ford roadster, a street rod '30 Ford coupe and a '65 Mustang fastback insured with them. Never had a claim, thank goodness, but was always pleased with Hagerty's customer service and price.
Go here:

BTW, I have no affiliation whatsoever with the company.

Check out Grundy. I did the "rounds" of the specialty car insurance suppliers and not only did they come in the least expensive, their restrictions are virtually nil - and mine is a fairly high value street rod (the AVATAR car). About the only thing they ask you to not do is use the car as a daily driver, i.e. going to work, grocery store runs, etc. No mileage restrictions at all

I found out Haggerty road service is Coach-Net. Cancelled Haggerty's and joined coach net ,now everything is covered for only $45 more/year.

I use Hagerty Insurance. The only ''restrictions'' are that I can not drive my car to work. I'm retired. I cant use it ''commercially'' like in weddings and graduations and stuff like that. I have it insured for 25 thousand and it has full coverage including comprehensive collision and liability and all necessary insurances for Nc. I think I am paying $250.oo per year. The car is a ''Classic Tiffany'' 1984 model. We drive it about every day and really enjoy the ''QQ'' looks it gets
Here is a pix of the car and it is in front of our small ''summer home'' up in the Blue Ridge Mountains close to Ashville, NC...(cough, cough)...... (and if you believe the part about the ''Summer home'' I got a bridge I want to sell you.....)

Search for American Collectors insurance. I had them on my Corvette. Had a good size claim with no hassle, or deductible. I would highly recommend them!

It aint much Bob, but it will do in a rush if you dont mind kinda cold and drafty and it is a heck of a long walk to unload groceries and mowing that flamin' front yard is a real ''pill'' in the summertime. But, we enjoy it....

I went with Haggerty because they insured my street rod while it was still in pieces being built, and just a phone call would upgrade the value as it was getting ready for the road. ALTHOUGH I never have made a claim they have been helpful and like dealing with a small family business ED

I carry 5K ins on my 1975 Cad Eldorado thru Hagerty for less than 100 a year. I will up it to 7500 next year and they tell me it will still be under a 100.

I used Grundy after doing a bit of research for my 1933 REO Roadster (all original except the Ford V8/trans & running gear).
No mileage restrictions, etc.
CJ, are you sure you're not living in the white tent at the side of the cottage?
