Thinking about changing Class A from carpet to all tile.But have 2 slide outs. Wonder how it would hold out with the slide outs, anyone have any input on this.

Are your slides on rollers or skids??

We had a 2000 Dutch Star with engineered wood floor. Finally had to replaced with ceramic tile by a local shop. The tile kept breaking where the slide roller went over it. Traded the rig in before we got it solved. Not sure if the subfloor was flexing or what.
In the present DSDP I'm looking at going with more of the vinyl tile like we already have in the galley area. Not sure I'd put real ceramic tile in as they can (and do) break. Some of the vinyl tile is so good it fools people. Friends had a 2004 DSDP with real tile, they thought ours was too till I told them it wasn't.

We were full time with three dogs so the OEM carpet just wasn't going to cut it for us. I removed all of the carpet from everywhere except the slide out floors and the "platform" on the far side of the bed which covers the engine.

I went for a flat floor look from the nose to tail and used Allure 1'x3' planks.

If your slides are "flat floor" slides and ride on to the floor when retracted, you're smart to be concerned if you're replacing carpet with some form of hard surface.

I experienced a good deal of scratching of the Allure when retracting the slides but I think a big contributor to that was that I had broken slide bushings allowing the slides to ride lower than they should when retracting.

At any rate though, The "skids" on the bottom of many slides which help them to slide smoothly when retracting at tailored for the material they are designed to slide over. I replaced carpet with vinyl tile and the metal skid designed to slide smoothly over the carpet now has to ride over my vinyl tile.

I wouldn't want to discourage you from the job but use our search feature and you'll find a lot of reading material on the topic so you'll be educated on what to expect. Go for it.

We did this just over one year ago. We used Mannington Adura in 16"x16" squares, glued it down and grouted the joints. It still looks like the day it was installed. We use 4 slide slickers when we pull in the level floor slide. Are you going to have some one do this or is it DYI?

I have ceramic tile in my coach from the factory. Replacing them with Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT). I have had 5 or 6 crack in the last 2 years. I assume the coach flexing going down the road is the cause. Grout lines have also cracked.

The drivers area is ceramic tile as well and it transmit road vibrations in to my legs even with the floor mat down, going with carpet in that area.

The tile is a very good look when you first walk in has a bit of awe factor to it, just not the best idea in a rolling earthquake.

I've got a section that I'd like to re-do and tile has come up. Are the RV installs done with appropriate sub-floors for tile and they still crack?

kind of what im wondering bathroom and kitchen area have tile in mine rest is carpet wonder what kind of underlaying they use cause its fine after 33,000 miles still concerned bout the rollers tho.
