Did you take more care to research your RV than you did when you selected your spouse?

Never thought about it that way but I have to say a resounding YES!

If I comment any further I'm liable to end up with knots on my skull.

No. When I first met my "girlfriend", first thing I did was pull a credit bureau report on her. Didn't want to waste my time on someone of bad character.

First thing she did was draw blood on me and do a complete blood chemistry analysis. She didn't want to waste her time on someone that wasn't healthy. She told me I needed to quit drinking so much--and I heeded her advice.

We got married 5 1/2 years later--28 years ago.

I was 18 and drunk when I saw what was to become my wife. I immediately noticed what a really great "package" she was. Super exterior trimmings!!

After 52 years I fully appreciate what came inside that package. Boy, was I lucky!! I tell people God picked her out for me because I could never have done that good a job!!

Make no mistake, there wasn't a lack of research on the spouse (both ways).

It is the amount of research done on the coaches. So much to learn when jumping from "C" to "A" pusher.

Nope. Took 4.5 years to resarch Dave. Only a few hours with the internet & walk thru's/test drives to research all 3 of the RV's we've had.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Wow Gordon,

Good question! When I met Jerry 44 years ago I was driving around with a friend on a warm summer Sunday afternoon. He saw me and jumped into the back of her Dad's station wagon and crawled over the back seat to talk to me.

Tried and tried to avoid him but it was a lost cause. I was scared and ran like a little girl as fast as I could and he came back over and over again.

I am very glad he did because he was the right one for me. We will celebrate our 43rd anniversary in May. Didn't know him a year and I will buy my first MH in about the same time.

Kind of equal time but I am really trying to use my brain with the MH purchase. Will tell soon as I think I may have found it.

Researched the floorplan we saw online, then located the actual unit at a dealer. No use wasting time looking at floorplans we didn't like. Priorities included: good floorplan, ample cabinet storage, good counter space, large fresh water tank (this one was a deal breaker on some brands where they only had a 23 to 30 gallon fresh water tank. the Aerolite had a 53 gallon fresh), overall fit & finish, and we tend to gravitate towards darker stained cabinets.

Once we saw the unit in person, I knew what options I wanted and then set about getting "my price". Believe it or not, from the first quote that day to the final purchase price, my out of pocket funds were 50% less than the "first quote". I'm not talking payment amount. Buying the unit outright.
