Gave my notice at work tody. I'll be retiring on Feb 3. I had planned to work until the weather broke, but decided this morning that enough is enough. Turned in my notice right after lunch. We will be ready to hit the road as soon as we can de-winterize our Motor Home. Can't wait.

I like that. You reached a point and enough is enough. I was there 3 years ago and can relate. Enjoy!!

I retired in '98, still haven't gotten away as the wife is still working and due to my step daughters death we "inherited" two grandkids. The oldest has now moved out.
Yesterday my wifes company had a call in session, someone asked if the company was going up for sale. The answer was "no". In today's news was a story that the company WAS up for sale.
Wife is hoping for a retirement buyout if the company is sold.
She has almost reached the end of the line with the people at work, she's just waiting till Dec when she turns 65 unless part of the buyout is insurance for retirees.

Every Saturday a group of us "OLD FARTS" get together for lunch and a couple (maybe 3) adult beverages.

At one place we frequent, the management has labeled us as the ROMEOS
