rv sales

I have been trying to sell our Adventurer since May. Anyone know how the Rv market is doing or is it just the economy. Thanks in advance.

When we wanted to sell our motorhome, we found a busy highway, and rented a spot at a motel along that highway, so lots of people could see it on the way to work. Sold it in 2weeks. Cash deal. You need as much exposure as possible, and it's getting to be a little late in the season. Exposure is the secret.

Are you advertising it on craigslist, RV Trader, etc.? How is it priced? Do you have it detailed out and in a state of super ready for a buyer? Does it need any work. If an RV is priced correctly, looking better then on a showroom, needs no work, then it will sell ASAP. I found during our search this year that the biggest issues were, not clean, overpriced, need of repair, owner not willing negotiate the price. We ended up going through a local dealer and bought it for below market price. JMHO

In our area, RVs are selling at NADA Guides, Low Retail, NO options added and they have to be clean and no repairs needed.

Craigslist draws scammers and dealers looking to add to their inventory like flies. So you have to weed our the scum and deal with any for real buyers.

But the trick is exposure. We tried to sell a 12 year old high end 5er and was down to low retail at local consignments at dealers. We finally took it to PPL Motorhomes in Houston and it sold for high retail in about 3 weeks. They now have a lot near San Antonio as well. They get a lot of traffic and do get them sold.

Thanks for the replays. I advertised here in the classifieds and rvt. It is clean with a lot of new stuff. I won't sell anything with problems. We still use it and is priced below Nada low retail. Just wonder if its too low people think somethings wrong.
