RV states sticker map

Ok I just purchased one of those state sticker maps to go on the new RV. So, being a newbie to RVing I need to ask a silly question As I don't want to violate any unwritten sticker laws Could someone fill me in on what criteria needs or should be met before adding another state sticker to the map? Is it just that someone has driven through a particular state? Or that they spent a night camping in that state? Or even a longer period?

There are no hard fast rules around adding state stickers.

For me I only add a sticker if I spent at least one night in the state. I don't count driving through.

The one night rule makes sense to me. We're going with that. Thanks PS where'd you find that sticker thing on the bottom of your post?

We follow the "spend one night rule", however I once read that you must do more than sleep for it to qualify...if you get my drift

Those state sticker maps are used to indicate to others whatever the RV owner wants them to mean.
If I ever put one on my coach it will be because I can no longer remember where I've been.

I get your drift, Gene. We snore, too, so that makes it a qualified sticker state.

Your map, your adventures, your decision. Enjoy and avoid the map police. Lol 😎

If I don't include the states I've driven through my map looks kind of patchy.

I like the idea of not only spending the night in a state, but also going to at least 1 unique thing about that state.

To each his own... and I'll probably never put one of those on our rv, but if I did, I would think of it more as a picture of places I've "visited"...
not just passed through or even over nighted to get to another place

So you count the one's you had a beer in while not stopping?

State maps seem like the RV equivalent of "My kid is an honor student at ...". I don't need to advertise my adventures. Personally, I don't count a state as visited unless I spent a night and saw a sight, but that's my own rules and don't apply to anyone else.

I don't have one of these on my RV, but used to have one on the Goldwing I rode way back when. I used the "did something" rule. States that just get in the way between where I am and where I'm going don't count.
