Backed the MH into the driveway after returning from looking for plumbing parts @ the MH/TT place around 30-40 miles one way. I got up and exited the drivers door on our PA and walked around to the reg door and opened it and all I saw was white smoke

I quickly turned her off grabbed my little dog and ran for the door dropped her to the ground and went back in to find out what was going on.
I smelled no smells and the smoke detector didn't let lose either. I shut everything down by this time the smoke is just a big cloud in the livening room.
Some how when I got out the drivers door I caught the Fire extinguisher button and it shot off this big cloud

Whew,
I thought I was going to lose her.
So I got the shop vac out and starting to clean up the mess about 1/2 hour later I noticed it was starting to get smokey again

SOMEONE didn't put the filter back into in the shop-vac so it blew all over the MH even all the way to the rear of the MH its stuck all over the cabinets, windows, screens and just everywhere What a mess'
I am just glad it was that and not a real fire

Watch out for those dang extinguisher

Holy cow! That kind of scare could shave a few years off your life! Glad to hear it was all eventually manageable. Whew!

You have to admit,,, since it turned out safley,, that is funny !!! I have had the shop vac blow dirt right back into the vehicle I was trying to clean....

Is your extinguisher missing the safety pin? You know the drill:

To operate a fire extinguisher, remember the word PASS:
- Pull the pin. Hold the extinguisher with the nozzle
pointing away from you, and release the locking
mechanism.
- Aim low. Point the extinguisher at the base of the fire.
- Squeeze the lever slowly and evenly.
- Sweep the nozzle from side-to-side.

Sorry for the mishap. A word of caution, those dry chemical FE's are generally very corrosive. Make sure you clean it up well and, if it were me, I might consider getting a Serv Pro or similar company to professionally clean the rig.

I won't keep a dry chemical extinguisher inside my coach. I have foam extinguishers.... they work better and don't harm anything, including your pets, if discharged.

I would hope too not be sitting at the fire that night, I'd split a gut.Yes very glad it was that and not a fire.
I 'll have too look for those foam ones.

Yea I know all about extinguishers, I was the lucky one where I used too work that had to lead the fire extinguisher guy around the campus checking them yearly. Took a day and a half to Check all of them in 7 different office bldg including the sprinklers in the ceilings. 28 years.

Good reason to get wet foam fire extinguishers. The ultra fine powder gets into everything including electronics. Don't be surprised if some over Heat and stop working in the near future.

White smoke reminded me, DH hit a deer with our little ranger truck last spring. I had gone out with the girls to eat after work... got a call from the highway patrol asking me to come pick him up as they found him wandering dazed along the side of the highway not far from the truck... seems the airbag went off... he said he thought the accident was a lot worse based on the pressure he felt on his chest but what worried him more and made him exit quickly was the white smoke all over inside the cab....There is a flame retardant that is ejected into the air when the airbag deploys...but he didn't know that. He didn't even realize right away the airbag had deployed. I made him shower right away because I knew about that and the corrosive aspect of that stuff...can burn the skin too....

im happy it was only that ,,,but yes clean everything at least twice,,,every nook and cranny,,......u got alot of work ahead of you,,,,that is not funny..

I have read a couple of times a powder extinguisher carried in a vehicle will settle the powder almost solid over a long period of time. Turn them upside down and slap it around a little occasionally.
