i just got an e mail from a friend with a video attached. It was channel 3 news somewhere and they demonstrated how there was a devise on the market that when placed close to your wallet, this devise will read your credit card number, name of credit card, exp. date and your ''cfn'' number on the back. They demonstrated it on about twenty people and it read every card correctly. The had the devise concealed in a folder like a small computer folder. They just walked by people and held it close and BINGO they had their credit card information. To my knowledge the only defense is to line your wallet with tin foil and I am not sure that will work. This thing will also read your passport information just as easily. It will read any information from any card or product that can be ''swiped'' to transfer information. Imagine what they could get in a crowded air port or on time square at new years. THINK ABOUT IT FOLKS ..... Let me know if there is a defense against this thing.

Aint modern technology wonderful ???????/

Lets invent a thingie to bring our troops home and let the rest of the world scratch its own back.......

It only works on cards that have a "chip" embedded so that you do have to swipe your card but just hold it close to a reader.

NC was experimenting with similar technology. They issued it out on NC Drivers Licenses. When you were near a reader with the driver license, the reader was able to pull all information that NC had on the person named on the driver licenses.

To me it sounds like the maker of the shields is trying to drum up buisness. And his reader only pulls info if the Credit Card has an RFID. It's looks like ))) on your credit card. Call your Credit Card Company ask them to send you a new card without the RFID, you can still slide it through at a merchants reader.
