School Has Started

Just wanted to remind everyone to be careful out there. School is back in session and our future leaders are out there running around waiting for the school busses in the mornings!

Wow, you folks in Kentucky get the kids back to school early. Got a couple of more weeks here.

Just all depends on where you are in the country. I know when my 8 year old,...ooops almost 9 year old... sorry honey, boy they get touchy about that, granddaughter gets out of school in mid May, we go someplace like Disney World that is usually packed with kids if we wait until June or July to go.

The school sessions are also geared to planting and harvesting times. This used to be a big factor when tobacco was king crop, but probably not as much of a factor anymore. Tobacco was one of those crops when the conditions were right to plant, schools would be empty of children because they would all be sitting on the setters picking up a plant and setting it into the ground or onto the setter.

Future leaders is a scary thought ! Those from the 60's and 70's are leading now and it's not pretty.
Florida schools have been session for a week now.

Well, no one has mentioned it, but school starting again is a great thing for those of us looking for prime campground space in short season areas. Even the weekends are more open. Getting old is not for the faint of heart, but at least our schedules do not revolve around school starting or stopping or activities.
