Ah Dennis! Behind every good man is a better woman, right?

I'm not sure though if it would be wise to put the three of them together. The honey do list is already long enough.

Today's update.

I just spent some time on the phone with Seajay. Good news: he has been released from the rehab home and is not at his home, with the good woman by his side. He still has a wound pump on his leg getting rid of all the junk in the would. (My note: he needs to be careful or all of him will get sucked in.) Of course, with Willa being a nurse he is in most capable and loving hands.

He is really in good spirits and his humor is still way up there. We have a good time talking. He said he may go drive the car today.

Anyhow, he is doing better, and he said his leg is getting "weller and weller and weller every day."

The ability he has to look adversity in the eye and defy it is a credit to his upbringing. Willa has to have a huge hand in his spirits also, if you get unconditional love and support things go really easily for you.

Ask me how I know? Seajay, until that campfire happens, keep well friend.

Wayne & Possum tell Seajay to hang in there we are all pulling for him. Miss his stories and witt. Prayers and good luck on his recovery. Maybe they could fit him with a sailor wooden peg. Jim.

Darn, I missed Seajay's phone call today but he left me a phone message.

He and Willa are doing fine. Today he walked 60 feet (or 60 paces - can't remember which) without the use of any assistance.

I'll give him a call in the morning but most likely we will just chat. It is great that he is doing well and walking.

Wow! I spent a long time talking to the windbag. Oh! Wait! He said the same about me.

As posted it was 60 feet of totally unassisted walking. He is driving and getting around. They purchased a 2009 V10 Bounder and will be going to Florida around the 1st of Dec.

As Seajay says, "Life is good."

Sorry! I have been remiss in updating this thread.

It has been several weeks and I'm ashamed I have not called him. Sometimes he calls me. Last time I talked with him he had taken 15 steps without any type of assistance. He is driving and going places locally. As he explains it, he can pull a pin in his right leg and rotate it 90 degrees and then he just drives with his left foot.

Leave it to Seajay.

I'm going to put a reminder on my list to call him. I'll post any items for the General Public that I can on his progress. I'll have to leave the sailor/marine talk out of the post.

I finally got through to that reprobate.

He has been in Florida since December 1st. They are at the Long Point County CG between Melbourne FL and Vero Beach Fl, close to Sebastian Inlet.

His leg is doing fine but he has muscle spasms in his back and those are keeping him close to his "walker." Seajay feels that if his back were not as bad he would be walking in a couple weeks without assistance.

Willa learned how to drive the MH and they now have a 2009 Bounder (Gas). A neighbor in NC helped them load up the MH for the trip. Seajay drove also. He is out and about shopping but using the walker. They will be in Florida until around April.

The rest of our conversation is not publishable. Mostly sailor talk, and this Marine couldn't get a word in edgewise.

All is well.

I don't know the couple but they sound wonderful and have a lot of friends on irv2.
Our thought's and prayers go out to you Sir and your wife. Great idea to have the wife know how to drive the MH congrats.
