Hi folks! I am looking forward to meeting you this weekend. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable trip. We are ready and hopefully have our mandatory "trip crisis" behind us. Here's a little hint:

Cost of dinner ( roast beef with mushroom and onion gravy, greenbeans, rice, homemade biscuits and iced tea) approx. $15.00

Cost of new TomTom GPS $150.00

Look on my husband "SeaJay's" face when he dropped the GPS we already had in the gravy ... PRICELESS!! Heheheheheheheheheheeeeeeee......

Dropped my cellphone in my coffee the other morning. $800.00 cup of coffee, just didn't that good. Tell SeaJay, he got off cheap.

FYI Something to try next time your cell phone or GPS goes swimming. As fast as possible -- even before the cussin' -- fish it out, dry off the outside and remove the battery. Then dry as throughly as possible, everything inside and bury it in a bowl or bag that will seal tighly along with a pound of uncooked white rice. Now you can take time for all the cussin' ya want, but you have a 50/50 chance of a working device when you unseal it in 3 days.

White rice absorbs water without getting into the electronics and many a cell phone has been saved by it. I eat brown rice, not white, but there alwys a bag in the cabinet since I heard about this trick. But of course, I found this out AFTER my cell took a dive into the toilet.

Jumped in the pool with my palm phone in my pocket. Had had it a month. :-(
Jumped out of pool took battey, sim card and memory card out of phone. Set it in front of a fan for 2 days and used it for 3 years. :-). Some times u get lucky

LOL! The 5 second rule most certainly did apply and that gravy was wonderful ( yes, braggin' on my own gravy) BUT the real damage came when "SeaJay" tried to rinse the gravy off using water. I am going to suggest that he take out the battery and cover it with a towel and bury it in rice while we are gone to the rally. I still laugh at him every time I think about. That expression was priceless for sure!

I never saw a GPS unit that had a removable battery. I just wish you had a camera with you to take a video of SeaJay's "adventure". That would surely win America's funniest home video.
Ya'all have a rootin tootin good time at the rally, a medical reason is keeping me home this year.
