Seen any Tiny Houses in CG's yet?

Tiny Houses seem to be getting very popular now for people who want to downsize from the S&B. Have you seen any in campgrounds yet?

Well, if you consider an RV to be a tiny house on wheels then I'd say the campgrounds seem to be full of them.

no, but it's probably due to the fact that many don't reach the level of an 'RV', being totally self contained, as most RV parks may require.... and also because the very folks wanting tiny houses probably aren't looking to stay at RV parks so much either...

we watch the tiny house shows quite often, but most don't disclose whether the units being built as really self-contained, with holding tanks, etc., or even how the water lines, if any, are run within the unit. I would wish that they would drill down into more of this type of coverage versus much of the 'fluff' that apparently helps sell the shows...

having said that, I also realize that most, if not all, of the RV sales online videos, and tv shows, don't speak to much of it either. I've told several dealerships that have large online presences that it would be a great addition to show the roof of the unit as well, which is rarely ever discussed, much less shown or detailed.

Although some 'tiny homes' are built on frames with wheels they are NOT intended to be towed here and there like an RV so don;t hold your breath looking for one in an RV park.

Towed to site...set up and lived in---no travel intended in there use.

Connect to sewer systems like a park model----no tanks
Water via hose connection........no fresh water tank

I don't expect to see them running up and down the highways like RV's, but I bet we are going to see them set up for long-term in campgrounds!

Our city just passed an ordinance against them, as many outer ring cities on our area have also. Personally I think it's a fad. They market them like a house or residence, but I think they are going depreciate in value like an RV does.

I have not seen any so far. One issue is your going to have a water, sewer and electric service. So you can't just plop it in a yard and call it home.

Current winter park is in the process of marketing to the "Tiny Home " fad so they can collect $$$ year round .
About 30 in the park so far , with 20 more sites being prepared for them.
Park is on BLM land so these can't be occupied for over 6 months of the year.

Yes I have. There are several at Escapees RV Park in Livingston TX. However, as others have said, they are parked more or less permanently and are not built nor intended for RVing.

Why would you buy one of these when you could just buy a RV and have just as much room if not more?

There's one in a trailer-park in our neighborhood. It's being used as a residence, I think. It hasn't moved since it arrived about 8 months ago. I would think that the all-wood construction would make them a heavy tow and the large, flat front would be a real aerodynamic problem.

I think it's probably because they want them to look like a house, not an RV!
