I'm sure they meant it in a humorous way, but it wasn't the best way to promote a product (occupants unsealtbelted, driver leaving pilot seat for food...etc). As with any advertising, ya take it with a grain of salt & pray the American public won't follow it's lead.

Take a look at Jeff Daniels (the actor) Utube movies of his RV adventures driving in Michigan last winter. One episode has him talking while driving and saying his coach tracks really well and if you just wait until you have a long stretch of straight road, you can let go of the wheel and the coach stays straight. Then he gets up and goes back to the bath to relieve himself. It's a joke but who knows, maybe someone would be stupid enough to do that.

Can't really ad much to what has been said, except.

No, Orville does not own the company any more,
he's been dead since 1995.

I dunno, the OP may have a point. We've all seen some pretty crazy stuff that people do on the highway...as elsewhere. I've seen a couple of drivers reading paperbacks while driving the interstate...was almost 'T' boned by a nose picker...people eating, drinking, putting on make-up, shaving, texting...gads! I once had a windshield sun screen that when unrolled it had in big letters: DO NOT DRIVE WITH SCREEN INSTALLED. I threw it out after a week, couldn't see a darn thing through it, but I saw a lot of wrecks in my rear view mirror...very telling what's out there. Bob

BTW, little known (non)facts about ole Orville. In his college days, he changed his name from Bill Smith as a spur of the moment 'prank'. Also his death in '95 was attributed to an impacted 'old maid' and he willed his remains to be layed to rest (hindquarters up) and is currently being used as a bicycle rack in China's Tiananmen's Square. Oh, and have a nice day!

That was great. Thanks for the post!

Reminds me of that scene in the movie Vacation where the camera pans the inside of the car filming everyone sleeping including Chevy chase who's supposed to be driving.
