Thumbs down Shame on you, Orville Redenbacher's!

If you haven't seen it on TV already, Take a look at the commercial entitled "RV" on ConAgra Food's Orville Redenbacher's website.

Our Ads and More - Orville Commercials, Kernel Katch Game - Orville Redenbacher's

On the surface, it appears cute and funny. But it really advocates a number of dangerous and unsafe acts being performed while inside a moving RV.

There are enough people out there performing stupid acts every day without getting more ideas from commercials like this.

I voiced my displeasure with this commercial to Orville Redenbacher's on their "Contact Us" page. Maybe if enough of us complain, they'll remove it.

ConAgra Foods: Contact Us

You're kidding... right? No one, but a total moron, would do what the RV driver did in the commercial. If a person actually DID do that, then they need to lose their license because they are too stupid to drive a vehicle. But then I have also seen folks driving down the road "texting" on their cell phones. But I still don't see where the popcorn folks should be chastised for someones stupidity. That's like saying they shouldn't show the Wiley Coyote/Roadrunner cartoons because someone might try to do the things that the Coyote does. Or how about the classic Three Stooges movies?

I have to agree.. I know the famous "Winnabago" suit case where the idiot is supposed to have set the "Auto Pilot" (Cruise control) and gone back to make a sandwich is an urban myth (Every de-bunking site I've checked says it is bunk and a whole lot of other sites as well)

But in today's world.. I can just see some idiot doing just as the ad showed.

Frankly, I just thought the commercial was a bit silly. Also, one needs to remember that Orville hasn't owned the product line in years, its simply a ConAgra brand nowadays. So, you should be saying "Shame on ConAgra" vs Redenbacher .

Looks like Natural Selection to me. If the commercial causes people to leave the wheel to break their teeth then those folks belong out of the gene pool anyway.

I’ve noticed there isn’t any truth in advertising left. We have a saying in this house don’t buy anything you see on TV and never “Just Pay Shipping and Handling” for a free product.

There is a difference between dangerous(risky) behavior and an attempt at intentional humerous behavior. I think we're taking these commercials waaaayyyy too seriously. If you want to see commercials that portray incredibly dumb behavior watch the commercials that advertise cooking gadgets. Now if your that dumb you shouldn't be near anything sharp or pointed.

Never have done it YET, but there have been occasions when at a long stop light or waiting for a train to pass I have been tempted to get up from the drivers seat to go and relieve myself.

I am at a loss. Other than the driver leaving his seat (an obvious joke) I see nothing that egregious.

Nobody was wearing their seat belts. I like OR popcorn and it seems to have less "old maids" or unpopped kernels. It is just a commercial and not to be too concerned about. At least it didn't have any sex or violence in it.

Just another dumb commercial. I don't see any reason to get your knickers in a wad.
