Makes you long for the good old days when you could call a moron a moron and if a woman was being harrassed by some jerk she could slap him across the face.
Sadly, we have turned into a nation of protected whiners. The land of the weak.

We went straight to the house after signing the paperwork for it. Walked around the property and ended up in the barn. I looked up in the loft and looked at my husband and said whats that up there? He said it's probably a couple of Penthouse's. I started to look around me and he asked me what I was doing. I said I was looking for something to get up there or to knock it down. I wanted to see if he was right. Yep he was right. It was Nov and Dec of the year the house was built, lol. You never what you will find at times.

I like the Alaska one: You can't bring a pet flamingo into a barbershop!

One solution to silly laws is to put a quota on them. For every new law created, another one needs to be repealed. Kind of keeps balance in the universe.

Totally agree. At all levels of government. Each level could delete 10 on the book laws for each new one.

Great idea! Too bad it will never happen. Another idea would be to put mandatory expiration dates on some categories of new laws.

In Ottawa, Canada it is illegal to eat an ice cream cone, while walking down the street, on Sunday. And that's the Capitol of the country, scary!!
Another, I forget where it is, it's against the law to beat your wife with a stick thicker than your thumb. So ladies, marry a guy with small hands!!
Old laws will never be removed from the books. That way, they will always find something to charge you with.
It used to be, if you were 'caught short' and got caught urinating, you were charged with indecent exposure. Now you are nailed with 'releasing a toxic substance into the environment' and the fines for that can get astronomical. What a plan, eh??! It all boils down to money.
