Smile you're on camera

If you are driving through Temple Terrace Florida be sure and come to a complete stop at all red lights because if you don't you will be on camera and the charge is $100.00

The law says to stop at red lights and stop sign and proceed when green and safe. Stopping is defined a ceasings all forward motion (rearward if you try to run it backwards). This is a requirement and not a suggestion.

Wonder if it would help it you ran the light with a box of donuts tied to the top of the vehicle?

We drove through Kingsport, Tn last week on the way home from Bristol Motor Speedway and there were photo speed devices set up on the main drag thru town. The city had posted two sets of warning signs as we approached the camera...good thing I was paying attention. Not really, I never speed, escpecially when driving thru town and cities...bad for the brakes!

I have always felt that RED light meant STOP.. Only gotten a couple of tickets for violation of red lights.. One I was out of gas and coasted into a station, Jerk cop still ticketed me

The other.. Well.. as it turns out I did not (in the considered opinion of a very good judge) violate the red light at all. Charge dismissed

Can I help it if I know the law better than officer dumb-head?

(in truth I did not violate the law The only violation was his)

I lived in Temple Terrace, Florida from 1962 and 1966 while attending USF and they didn't have anystop lights. I did get a ticket ($7 dollars, but I talked the judge out of it) for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. I see they are singing the same song, but just a different verse.

As cities and towns feel the money crunch more each month, this is becoming a normal practice_enforcing present laws more rigorously.

Many years ago they started enforcing that at some intersections. A gentleman was photographed and had to appear in court. They judge asked him how he pleaded, and said, "Before you answer, we have a photograph of you, with your wife, running the red light."
The gentleman answer, "Guilty your honor, that was not my wife!"

As Ken stated, it's the law, so what's the problem. Stop on red, go on geene, and be very cautious on yellow.

Everybody should be aware of stopping their vehicles when red light is on and all must follow the traffic rules.

Advise to be very aware and wary when driving in Phoenix/Scottsdale area(s). Many speeding cameras are now in use on 101 Fwy and others, as well as other areas in state. Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, and others use roving speed cameras as well as fixed site cameras for red lights and speeding.
We moved to SC almost 2 yrs. ago and seeing speed and red light cameras popping up in many areas. They generate big bucks for vendors and municipalities.

Be extra careful in AZ as the use portable cameras with only a 300 foot warning.
Hey at 80 MPH what is your reaction distance.
The red light cameras catch the guy who runs RED lights, but how do they protect the guy who has the light when he gets T-Boned.

The cameras are there to maximize income. They are not there to make the roads safer. If they wanted to make the roads safer then put the cameras where they catch speeders in school zones. Put them where they catch idiots weaving in and out of traffic. Put them where you catch someone deliberately breaking the law, not just making an error in judgement. Don't stick it to some poor slob failing to come to an absolutely computer measured complete stop behind the white line when there is no traffic in either direction and there is an 18 wheeler 10 inches off his back bumper yacking away on his mobile phone. Give the 18 wheeler the ticket because He is the Dangerous driver in this situation.

Nothing to do with anything

But I was watching the local news here this morning and they had the "Lettermen" on... they still sound great!...

One of them was asked about their audiences and he said, "they range from newly wed to almost dead".
