We have been working on setting up our new rolling home and man what a job. A fun job and lucky to have it but none the less a job! And holy wow more money.
New sheets, bed spreads, pillow cases, gel memory foam mattress, new chairs, fold up wagon............washing, sweeping, organizing.

You're starting to "get it".

Those who can't see it as a labor of love, usually give up the hobby pretty quickly. It's all about expectations. RV's require constant attention... and money. Both can be minimized, but it's a lot different than a stick house.

Just keep your positive attitude and enjoy the journey.

Have to agree here, it will costs me the same amount to park full service for a month as I pay now for gas and electric. No mortage, no taxes no water tax....
I will be saving money for a change and do my renos omly when I have the cash.... those are my wants .... my needs are dry camper, food, and a few good books .... oh! and full tanks, gas and propane....

For the books, I recommend a Kindle Paperwhite so you can hold a thousand or so books in the palm of your hand.

The paperwhite is lit so you can read in the dark as well as in bright sunlight.

We went from a TT to a MH this year. In the process, we had to empty out the trailer, and we put most of the stuff in the shed. We carry much less now, as some of what we bought just isn't needed.

We don't carry awning lights - we enjoy the labor and light of others. We don't carry four flashlights, or bug net covers for the food. We found we don't need or want to carry a lot of the stuff we thought we couldn't live without. We keep a running list of needs and think twice before we buy anything for the MH. The shed, however, is full of stuff. (Blue tote, anyone?) I need to have a camping detritus yard sale.

We did just what your doing last spring. We have a 34 foot class a with more storage than 2 of us will ever use......I Think.
We loaded the basics and nothing extra!!! My thought was if in dought leave it out. You can get by by begging and borrowing the first time that you really need it, then you might return home and add it. But be rest assured if you put it in at first you will never take it out even if you never use it.

Don't worry that extra space will get used up quickly.

I advertized all our old tent camping "detritus", along with the tent, on Craigslist. It was sold in less than a week.
