I was watching one of the Science channels the other day and they featured a guy who invented a solar electric ink that you can print on to a super thin film (about the thickness of good box sealing tape). The outfit is http://www.konarka.com/

I'm think this stuff printed on to the top of our awning's is going to be really neat. The collector type ink is more efficient than the current silicon(SP?) stuff.

Wonder if the awning fabric guys are picking up on this?

Just checked the link to the site. I can see some wonderful applications for their product. The awning is a perfect place for that application. Include all the window awnings and you would really have something. Think about completely power independent!

DonovanP,

Thanks for the link. If this material is truly commercially feasible it woulb be fantastic. The applications are endless, only limited by the imagination.

Thanks for the link, I'm going to see if I can get some of that to compliment our solar panels we already have.

I'll keep you posted if it's available.

Ok, I contacted the company asking how I could buy some of their solar ribbon, and got an immediate responce back. That was nice because most companies take weeks to get back sometimes.

They told us they currently do not offere anything for the RV World but are in the process of developing some stuff.

They said it should be available by this time next year, and to make sure to check back because it is going to change the way Solar and RVing is thought of.

Just thought I'd pass along the info.

Pat

Sounds like it might be a good investment.

Like my sister said, "I wish I had invested in the company that makes those orange highway cones."
