Something you don't see everyday.

Really neat story if it's true, I could see it happening but with all the things that would have to come together makes it really unique.

It's posible but it's also quite easy to do with a photo program.

I download the pic and blew it up, if it's shopped in they did a fantastic job of it.

Squirrel doesn't block the people, squirrel and people in focus = Photoshop, IMHO.

They had that picture on NBC's Today Show this morning, they said it wasn't altered.

I'd say it's genuine. Looks like the camera's autofocus set on the squirrel and put the background slightly out of focus. Great picture!

And it could have focused the other way - background, and at the right moment the squirrel stuck his head up with the image locked in-focus. Don't you think?

On thing one can do with a camera is focus on any object while holding the shutter button half way down and then switch to a different angle. The original focus is retained.

I have to agree with Half Dime. I saw the picture and the people on the news tonight. The couple in the picture are not in focus like the squirrel. When they interviewed the couple it sounded like he triggered the camera by remote.

The couple were using a remote and had taking a few other pictures before and after the squirrel pop-up into picture. As stated above they were on the NBC Today show and their experts said it was real.

I agree its probably genuine. Notice how the camera automatically focused on the curious rodent and not on the people. If it were faked, I would expect the people to be in focus as well as the squirrel.

Photo has not been altered

I wrote a quick program to read the meta data from the photo. It is a copy of the original image capture by a digital camera.

It has not been altered.
