Squirrel digging holes in lawn *Help*
Got a little problem here...I got these squirrels digging holes in my lawn, especially were I laid down some new grass seed patches. Any ideas out there with something I can mix in with the grass seed or spray on top to deter the little munchkins from digging up where I just planted seed. The patched areas might be only 4" - 6" around, but even if I place a piece of plastic over the newly seeded area till the new grass is an half an inch tall, they'll dig it up still. Seems like they like the soft new soil for easy digging. I don't know if their hiding nuts or storing something for later eating.
In the fall I had about 20 small areas patched, grass starting to grow in, and then "BAM" all my hard work is dug up. Thought maybe spray something on like vinegar or something.

There are a few deer/rodent repellants at your local garden center that you can spray on the area. Watch though cause they are mostly made from dog urine and rotten eggs and give off a horrible smell.

There is a product called Shake Away that is very good. Just make sure you use the right variation for squirrels

Yes, I'm to that point...I chase them up the trees, they turn around and give me the finger.
I tried mixing some pepper into the grass mix, seems they even liked that better.

Is that a product just for Squirrels?
Was looking for some sort of "Home Brew"..
Just got an idea: Late at night I'll take a leak on the areas I just planted. I Googled the Shake Away and it's ingredient is fox urine.

Whatever works for you. Mine works and it has variations for different applications as stated in my response. Hope you get the problem solved.

Are you sure they aren't after stuff that they put there previously... they are really hungry about now and looking to get to their stores until the nuts/other food sources start happening again... and beware for flower bulbs... they like to replant those where you don't want them....

Your evening "leak" actually does work! After everything else failed, this did the job. You just have to reapply after every rain. A lot of beer helps too.
