but I foresee OSHA or the EPA shutting them down :(

EPA and osha can't touch it. Its listed as a Historic site.
Thats awesome that the equipment is still in use.

For anyone who has ever wondered about the phrase "balls out", it refers to the two spinning balls on the steam engine. They govern the speed of the engine by controling flow/pressure, when at top speed they are "balls out" by centrifical force.
