Mike and others;

Go to the Heavens-Above website, register, enter your city and get a chart showing when STS-121 or the ISS is passing over your location. You'll then be able to go outside and see the shuttle.

Mike, there is a great pass tonight over Conway. STS-121 will be rising from the NW at 21:10:38 and setting on the ESE at 21:15:52. Peak will be at 21:13:28. Look to the northeast 61 degrees above the horizon at 21:13:28. STS-121 will be the brightest object in the sky. Below is a sky chart showing the pass tonight from Conway.

I'm an avid amatuer astronomer and have been satellite tracking and watching since the Sputnik and Echo days.

Go to http://www.heavens-above.com/ register and printout the satellite passes for your location. I often do this when in the motorhome and point out satellite passes to other campers. You can even see very bright Iridium satellite passes during the day! The website will give you those times and coordinates also.

I'll be in northen Ontario on a flyin fishing trip in August and I printout the satellite passes for every night and take them with me. We go out, have a few cold ones and watch the satellites pass overhead. One passes over every few minutes and sometimes 2 or 3 are visible at the same time. The skies are very dark in northern Ontario with the nearest electric light 50 miles away.

Just walked outside a few minutes ago when I saw on the NASA Chanel that it would be passing over the Houston area...Looked up and there it was. No question about it, a beautiful sight to see. And I live 200 miles SW of Houston.

Thanks for the links, it's not exactly prime time TV but I really enjoyed watching the space walk this morning. Technology is so amazing these days.

Tom N,

I just took a look at the map you posted, is it just me, or are east and west reversed on the map?

I think the map is correct if you are lieing down with your head toward the North and looking up at the sky. Also his map of the U.S. is correct if your at the center of the earth looking up. Someone please tell me I'm correct.

You are correct Jim.

You can print the star map and hold it up the the sky. You'll see what is on the map.

Hay Tom N.

I was noticing on your display of the US map that you have transported all us Floridians out West. Neat way to get out West, but you would probably miss most of seanery in between. LOL s/Toby
