At the drag strip, car blew a clutch, my buddy ran out , picked up a piece and dropped it. A stranger said "HOT"? My Buddy said "NO" just don't take much time to look at a broke clutch!

People are always asking Tallulah where she got her name from. I don't know why she answers , but it's always the same " my Parents"

I worked as a Letter Carrier for 27 yrs and I've heard a lot of dumb questions. The most often used is during the summer heat. In 100* weather they would ask "Is it hot enough for you?". Or in winter "Is it cold enough for you?". My polite response would be, "No, I'd like it to be hotter/colder." Another good one. Driving down the block, windows wide open, side door open and sweat rolling down my face, "Do you have A/C in thus truck?". On one of my routes I had to deliver mail to community mailboxes in the neighborhood. As I unloaded the mail, I would stack it on top of the boxes. Someone would walk/drive up and ask "Are you done with this side?". My inner response would be " No, I'm just gonna leave it up there and let you sort through it".

This is not a dumb question but dumb action. In most restaurants there are two doors at the entrance. One for going in and one for coming out. Why do people stand inside in front of the left side door and wait for the people that are coming in on the right? Then when it's clear they exit through the door on the right. I just don't understand.

My bosses learned quickly to just tell me to do something, not ask me if I wanted to do it, because I would give them an honest answer.
When someone asks me an either or question which I can answer as both, it rattles them when I say just yes.

Typical greeting from a waitress "How are we all doing"
My answer is always "I don't know but I know how I am doing"

I must say I've been guilty of some of these "dumb questions." I have been known to say "is it hot enough for you?" or How's the weather up there? But I only did it as a way to start a conversation.
If you want a true stupid comment or question. Come to Idaho. I was looking at the local Wally World to get a nice decorative shelf bracket. I asked the fellow where the shelf brackets were. He takes me to the "utility brackets."
I say. "Hmm.... do you have something a little more ornate?"
He says "Or-whut?"
I say. "Ornate. You know... something more fancy."
Hey says. "Oh why didn't you say so?!"
I say. "I did! Why didn't you pay attention in school?"
I just walked off shaking my head at that point. Lord help us.... these kids are gonna rule the world someday... ala "Idiocracy."

Some people characterize Pennsylvania as Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with West Virginia in between. I find it hilarious when approaching the counter at a fast food restaurant, alone, to be greeted with "May I help someone?"
"Someone?" "It's just me here."
"Oh, may I help you then?"
See, they knew it all along.

We actually had a guest in CST ask about what time we let the animals out. She wanted to see the buffalo. "In the summer on week days we let them out before sunrise and on weekends they stay out all night".
