I'm home and doing well. Can actually say, so far, this one is a bit easier than the first one.

Hi Ho: Well it has been about 2 1/2 months for you now. I wonder how you are doing with the new knee? Katie had hers done on Apr. 6 and is getting around well, but it is still stiff and she has a little pain. I still have both of mine left to do, but am also putting it off as long as I can. (I have had Synvisc injections in both knees and do pretty well now.) Would be interested in an update. Hope things are going well for you.

Its been 10 1/2 weeks for the first knee and 5 1/2 for the second one. I'm doing great. Not totally pain free but no longer taking pain meds. I walk with out a cane or crutches and can walk about 3/4 of a mile fairly much pain free. The thing that thrills me the most is to be able to stand on my feet for 2 hrs without having to sit down to relieve pain.
I feel like a new person and I'm looking forward to daily walks of a mile or more. Life is good.

My recommendation is, if you think you need to have it done, don't wait. In 2-3 weeks you will have less pain that before the surgery.

Hi Ho: Thanks for the update. Glad you are doing well. My knees are ok for now, but Synvisc is a temporary fix so I still have the knee replacement ahead. Saturday I was able to work in the yard and was on my feet for about 8 hours. This has not been possible for years now, so if anyone else wants a temporary fix consider the injections.

Dr. said mine were too far gone to use the stuff you had. One had wore a 1/2" grove in the bottom joint bone. Knee was bending to the outside and wasn't able to straighten it out. Sure is better now!!!!!!!!!
The surgery isn't fun but don't wait like I did.

Up date 4+ months later.
Had the second one done on April 13, 6 weeks after the first one.
Pain is gone.
Walking 2 miles, pain free each day.
Biking about 3 miles each day as weather permits. Almost pain free.
Can do stairs. Pain free.
Loosing weight.

Went from almost an invalid to becoming real active once again. If your knees are bad. Just have them replaced. You will love it.
