Sway bars

I currently pull a 34' travel trailer with 1 friction sway bar. There is room to mount a second on the other side. Is this a good idea?

I've have seen threads were people mount two sway bars. Do you get any type of feedback/sway in the wind or when semis pass you with you current setup? If so, then adding the second sway wouldn't hurt.

Truck is not a problem. Wind 15 to 39 plus is a problem so I was wondering if a second sway bar would help. I've tried different setting on my sway bar. It doesn't help

The wind will push that extremely long trailer even if you weld it fast. Sway and side winds are two different subjects. Two friction bars are recommended for a trailer that long.

I guess that you are tightening the long handle and using the bolt to adjust?

They also make hitchs with cam type sway control.
When in the straight ahead position, it uses the weight distributing bars to locks the 2 units straight ahead.

Your long trailer is a big sail and any mild or more wind can and will push it around. A good sway control for sure is desirable. Our long gone 27' TT would push our then 2WD F150 around until I added the sway control. Then there is your tow vehicle itself - do you have the WD bars 'cranked' up to the point that it takes too much weight off of the TVs rear wheels and puts too much of the load on the trailer and TVs front wheels? We did that way back in the '80s. Once! Do you have sway bars on the truck's suspension?

Thanks all for your input. It's all good. Had a good day to adjust my sway control and am looking into another sway option. Even light winds have influence. Again, trucks aren't a problem.

I have a ram 1/2 ton w/a 1000 air lift, 5.7 liters hemi...all good...dang wind.
