A truism: If 2 plus 2 equals 5, then 2 plus 2 equals 4.

It changed in 1984 to be exact...I'm sure Orwell will be along to explain it.

Sometimes I guess it is necessary to explain everything to the less informed. Apparently you have never taken Sociology 101.

A truth table is necessary, but instead of plotting out the entire table I'll try to explain it in a simpler term, even one that the less informed can understand.

I made the statement, "If 2 plus 2 equals 5, then 2 plus 2 equals 4." That is a truism.

Let me explain:

IF anything and anything equals 5, THEN 2 plus 2 equals 4.

Does that help?

Doesn't make any more sense than the new math that got dumped on me in Grade 8, teacher was 2 years out of university and hadn't seen anything like it, so he was no help, base 2 ( now referred to a binary, where you have only 0s & 1s) was understandable even in the pre computer age.
Then good old base 10, our common 1>10 system. But when they threw in base 12 everyone got lost. 1>10 +e & t , even then 13 & 14 year olds asked " Why do we have to try and learn this?" It'll be on the final exam was the answer; and they wondered why we hated school.

Perfectly clear! I'm sure glad you explained that! I stayed up all night trying to figure that out!
