Teen's Cell Phone Catches Fire Under Her Pillow

Just for information purposes and safety. Any cell phone has the potential to do this.

Same here. Seems like it gets the hottest during charging.

Cool Keep it cool

Thank for sharing the story. Just a FYI that I found helps. Remove your cell phone outer cover if you have one when charging it to let heat escape better from the cell case. I also have a short drinking glass I set my cell phone across when charging overnight to keep it off any surfaces that could combust if it gets to hot.

JMHO. Take any device and charge it under your pillow . You better put a smoke detector under there too.

if you read the article, the problem is that the teen did not put it under her pillow, it slipped under her pillow. Now, did it slip from a night stand, head board, or did she have it on the bed..don't know 'cause the article does not say.

Point made - be careful. The ashes falling on the floor may be your own.
