Folks - I live in this area and we have black ice this time of year. At night it's hard to see and patchy; a common hazard. In daylight it can still be a hazard and many folks are killed or injured; this is the latest. Let's be kind with our opinions - many families are grieving this week.

We came through that way once in the spring time. I wouldn't say it is any worse than most of the roads in BC. You couple that with an icy condition of the road and anything can happen. That can happen on any road or mountain pass. May be that the driver was driving to fast for conditions. The cause eventually will be disclosed. It is a shame for all on that bus and the grieving families of the ones that were lost. The ones that survived will never forget the horror of that day.

The route used by the charter group is designated before the group started this trip. Returning to Canada from Las Vegas via this route covers some tourist attractions during the route. Snow and Ice is not forecasted at time of Charter Request in Canada. Driver follows the orders given on Charter papers.

This is the reason I'm fulltiming it in an rv park in Grants Pass .I was ready to snowbird it in socal when the snow hit in Nov. We decided to wait until April to do our visiting .I happen to be coming back from Az. in Feb three years ago and got snowed in in N. Cal and had to do a 400 mile detour to the coast to get home.I also found out that I couldn't get gas at night in Or.We had to boondock at a gas station until it opened.
